ive thinking about the concept of “sinkhole” subcultures. or, subcultures which draw people into wokelike patterned cultures of stagnation.
where communal motivation and innovation are trapped in sinkholes of cult like purity tests, virtue signaling competitions, and pseudo-expert gatekeeping.
while i think that this can occur organically over time, ive been wondering if, in the age of information war, these patterns have been studied and weaponized to take out cultural movements which pose a perceived threat to establishment power
