knowing God is pleased with you, and is excited about your future, is the foundation of so many good outcomes in life

there was once a man who put lots of money into nazi germany. when that threatened to become a problem, a very smart lawyer friend helped him hide it, and launder his money out. he was also involved in a plot to overthrow the US Government, to install a fascist State. this mans lawyer would later become the first head of the cia, his son would become director of the cia, be involved in the kennedy assassination, the establishment of an opium network and a massive money laundering system, and would later become president. his grandson would go on to become president, pass the patriot act, and lie to start some wars.

im realizing that Zionism is a form of the “Manifest Destiny” doctrine that we used to justify displacing people living on the land we wanted. Our blind spots are something else.

supporting the political decisions of the Israeli government does not make you a better Christian

it’s interesting how many “solutions” from the Federal government involve further erosion of your freedom.

when i heard rumblings of a pandemic in January of 2020, having some knowledge of the history of pandemics which had come out of Wuhan and swept acros the world, I took some pretty serious preparation steps. I even started wearing n95 masks before most people had even heard about what was coming. people looked at me like i was crazy. two months later, after catching the first round and being out for 10 days, then looking at the numbers being put out, i came to the conclusion that it was bullshit, and something creepy was going down. I stopped wearing masks, and the same people who looked at me crazy before, were all wearing masks, and looked at me like I was crazy for not wearing one. I feel the same way about politics now. i was early on the "wake up" train. and now, while I do think there is a political "virus" out there so to speak, i think much of what is happening all around us is a construction to keep us engaged, and to keep them important. Because the secret the legacy political systems dont want you to see, is that they dont matter nearly as much as they want you to believe they do. At absolute maximum, 20% of the "things that urgently matter" actually matter at all. What they want, is for you to BELIEVE. To believe what they say, and what they do, is of critical importance to the world. But have you ever wondered what would happen if they all just disappeared, or just stopped talking? Or no one let their words or plans affect any decision they made in life? If everyone believed they didnt matter, would they still matter?

still blown away a group of guys in 400bc hypothesized, from observing nature, that all matter was composed of microscopic building blocks called “atoms”.

still laughing after learning there were fitness influencers, lifestyle (look how rich and hot i am) influencers and political commentators in the Greco-Roman world. And that this gave rise to the Sophists, “how to be an influencer” influencers who would charge a fee for advising people on how to be more popular and get elected. There is no new retardation under the sun. 🌞

well... TIL, Philostratus. The social commentator who dunked on the fitness and lifestyle infloooencers of the 3rd century Greco-Roman attention economy. There is nothing new under the sun.

til, the battle of Morgarten. Where 1500 farmers lured 9000 trained, armed Knights into a narrow pass between a mountain and a lake, and pushed rockslides and rolling logs down on them destroying the entire army. Giving birth to Switzerland. 🇨🇭

this generation seems increasingly shallow and arrogant to me. it lacks the humility to see its own shortcomings and failures. Everyone is an expert, and knows nothing. its kinda bumming me out. gonna need to narrow inputs and change focus.

just had a weird insight rabbit holing in ancient greek writing style. The Apostle Paul's letters are an insight into what an intelectual giant he was. The letters to different places, different city states and cultural paradigms were written in those rhetoric styles, logic frameworks, and cultural paradigms. No where is this more evident than in the comparison between Romans and Ephesians. One being written in a legal structured, point by point "therefore" logic, and the other being writen in Greek Parataxis, "and, and, and, compounding greek logic style. Each letter was written in a culturally relevant way, using cultural references and thinking those cultures would understand. Which adds weight to his statement, "i have become all things to all men, that by all means, i may save some."

the thing about AI i find most interesting is not AI. Its the human marketing trying to convince potential customers it is a superior intellect. And how many scifi bros buy it hook line and sinker.
