NFC North • Clip by @undisciplined • Listen on Fountain After going 0-3 in the playoffs (and the Bears completely fizzling out), were we too high on the NFC North? Should we expect that to be the best division again next year? There's a good chance the Lions and Vikings regress a bit, the Packers were terrible against good teams, and the Bears might play down to their standard. I could see any of the AFC West, NFC West, or AFC North being better than the NFC North. originally posted at
A Libertarian-Left Alliance...On Economics? | The Libertarian Institute Thomas Eddlem asks if libertarians and leftists can work together on economic issues. "The left loves to rage against corporate welfare, which we libertarians often oppose as “crony capitalism,” so why not an alliance? We could team up to end corporate subsidies in the energy industry (both hydrocarbons and green energy), corporate subsidies embedded in foreign aid, agricultural price supports, and institutions like the Export-Import Bank." originally posted at
The H-1B Controversy | The Libertarian Institute Institute co-founder Sheldon Richman weighs in on the latest immigration debate. "The standard answer is that those jobs are American jobs. However, if capitalist entrepreneurs want the freedom to hire consenting workers living abroad, the jobs obviously are not American jobs. Who has the right to declare them otherwise? A job is a continuing transaction between an employer and an employee. It has no national label. To insist that it does have such a label because the employer operates on U.S. soil is to accept a premise that requires proof, namely, that the government or a majority of voters owns the country. That premise glaringly clashes with the principle of liberty. It makes freedom a delusion." originally posted at
