Still digesting as much content as I can from #Bitcoin2025 last week… In my opinion, nothing was more iconic than the return of Ross. Freedom. Decentralization. Unity. Massive fan of his and idk if I’ve ever been more bullish with everything happening this year. More than anything, just such a culture win to have him back.

Given that a lot of Satoshi's Sip followers are passionate Bitcoiners, I think I speak for most of us when I say that my 'For You' timeline is almost entirely Bitcoin-related. Plus, by now, I think it's safe to assume that the 'average' Satoshi's Sip customer is pretty far down the Bitcoin rabbit hole. Which is why the pop-up shop we set up last weekend was so impactful for me. Because we weren't at a “Bitcoin event”—we went to a local flea and farmers market! Unlike a more typical event of ours, this was a chance to meet people outside our usual 'Bitcoin Twitter' timeline bubble. Right away, I could tell our business was sparking curiosity. Most market-goers had never seen a business like ours, and the majority hadn't even heard of Bitcoin, let alone Bitcoin Beach-which is why we jumped at the chance to share our story with anyone who stopped by. As the day unfolded, I realized we weren't just pouring coffee. We were serving 'orange pills' to 'precoiners'! … Because with each new conversation, I saw faces light up as Bitcoin's potential started to click for them. (I was careful not to overwhelm, just planting a seed to grow later.) It made me realize once again that, even as a small Bitcoin coffee business, we can have a big impact by planting that seed and growing Bitcoin culture and popularity. One cup at a time 🤝☕️

When complete newbies ask me what Bitcoin is, the first thing I immediately try to drive home is its value compared to fiat. Stressing its limited supply right away is key. Everyone loves rare stuff, and that usually sparks enough interest for them to start their own research. Next thing you know, you see them in a few months and they’ve gone full nerd mode- diving deep into the Bitcoin trenches, studying merkle trees and building self-custody wallets that look like middle school calculators! It all starts with getting them curious. This is a great ad from Coinbase, could very well be somebody’s original “orange pill” moment:

When you're still using centralized social media in 2025, I guess you still run the risk of having to deal with annoyances like this...🤦‍♂️ Recently, when I logged into the Satoshi’s Sip Instagram, I kept getting messages suggesting that they think I'm a bot. I've never done anything out of the ordinary and have never linked my account to any third-party apps. I pretty much only use the account to market our coffee business and connect with customers through DMs—definitely not the usual behavior of a bot! (And just so you know, we’ve never faced any warnings or community violations until we started mentioning that we joined Nostr... 👀) Anyway, I hope my account doesn’t get banned. I want to keep all my options open for reaching customers, and Instagram has millions of potential users who could be interested in our delicious coffee. That said, I'm really glad I joined Nostr a couple of months ago. It feels great to have a platform that genuinely supports its users, unlike these big centralized corporations! I plan to focus more on my Nostr crowd moving forward- hopefully we can continue to build! #nostr #decentralization #socialmedia
