Great final session tonight on the remaining part of Chapter 4 of the #Bitcoin Diploma – What is Fiat Money and Who Controls It? Our sincere gratitude goes to Tochi and Jetty for delivering an insightful and engaging educational session to our BitcoinSafariTz students. The discussion covered key concepts such as fractional reserve banking, where banks hold only a fraction of customer deposits in reserve while lending out the rest, and Central Bank Digital Currencies (CBDCs), which represent the potential future of fiat money under centralized control. This session also explored the historical and practical implications of fiat currency systems and the role of governments and central banks in controlling money supply. Most importantly, Tochi and Jetty led a deep conversation on the challenges of centralized monetary systems, including censorship, inflation, lack of transparency, and limited access to financial tools for the unbanked. We truly appreciate Tochi and Jetty for dedicating their time and knowledge to guide our students through this crucial chapter. Their clarity and passion made complex topics more accessible and sparked meaningful discussions. Co-hosted by Graysatoshi, this session marked another successful step in our journey to build Bitcoin knowledge and financial literacy in Tanzania. Stay tuned for more!

Yesterday’s Proof of Work Monday session was an enlightening journey into the foundations of modern money. Led by our educator Tochi, Chapter 4 Part 1 of the Bitcoin Diploma course delved deep into the question: “What is money, and who controls it?” The session provided students with a comprehensive understanding of the evolution of money and the systems that govern it today. Tochi began by exploring the concept of fiat money—currency that holds value not because it is backed by a physical commodity like gold or silver, but because governments decree it as legal tender. This shift from commodity-backed money to fiat currency marked a significant transformation in monetary systems, allowing central authorities to exert greater control over the money supply. The discussion then moved to the monetary system by decree, highlighting how governments and central banks manage national currencies. This system enables authorities to implement monetary policies that can influence inflation, employment, and economic growth. However, it also raises questions about the concentration of power and the potential for misuse. A critical part of the session focused on fractional reserve banking—a system where banks are required to keep only a fraction of their depositors' funds in reserve, lending out the remainder. This practice effectively allows banks to create money through lending, expanding the money supply beyond the actual physical currency in circulation. While this system supports economic activity by providing loans for investment and consumption, it also introduces risks such as bank runs and financial instability if not properly regulated. Tochi's engaging teaching style and in-depth explanations helped demystify these complex topics, fostering a lively discussion among students. By examining the history and mechanics of our current monetary systems, participants gained valuable insights into the forces shaping our economies and the importance of financial literacy in navigating them. Stay tuned for our next session, where we will continue to explore the intricacies of money and its impact on society.

#ElimuYaFedha #PesaNiNini #BitcoinTanzania #SarafuDijitali #BitcoinSafariTz #FedhaZaKisasa #Cryptocurrency image

17 key lessons from the book: "Outliers: The Story of Success" by Malcolm Gladwell explores the factors contributing to high levels of success. The book argues that personal attributes are not the only contributors to success; cultural background, timing, opportunities, and even luck play crucial roles. 1. The 10,000-Hour Rule: Mastery of any skill requires approximately 10,000 hours of deliberate practice. Success often comes from extensive practice and experience, not just natural talent. 2. The Matthew Effect: "The rich get richer, and the poor get poorer." Early advantages, even seemingly small ones, can compound over time, leading to significant differences in outcomes. 3. The Importance of Timing: The era in which you are born can significantly affect your chances of success. Being in the right place at the right time is often crucial. 4. Cultural Legacy: Your cultural background and the traditions you inherit can deeply influence your work ethic, communication style, and ultimately your success. 5. Practical Intelligence: Beyond IQ, practical intelligence, which includes knowing how to navigate social situations and understand contextual clues, is critical to success. 6. Opportunity Matters: Success is not just about individual effort; it's also about being given the right opportunities at the right times. 7. The Role of Hard Work: Persistent effort and dedication are essential. Hard work can often outweigh natural talent in the pursuit of success. 8. The Impact of Community and Family: A supportive environment, including family, mentors, and community, plays a significant role in shaping an individual's success. 9. Success is Social: Success often depends on working well with others, building networks, and gaining support from the right people. 10. Accumulated Advantages: Small advantages or opportunities that accumulate over time can lead to significant success later on. 11. The Power of Legacy: The cultural and familial legacies handed down through generations can shape an individual's values, beliefs, and approach to work. 12. The Birth Date Phenomenon: Even something as simple as the month you are born in can influence your success, as seen in studies of professional athletes. 13. The Role of Chance: Luck plays a non-trivial role in success. Being in the right place at the right time, or meeting the right person, can make all the difference. 14. Environmental Impact: The environment in which one grows up or works can significantly influence the opportunities available and the likelihood of success. 15. Meaningful Work: People are more likely to be successful when they find their work meaningful and aligned with their personal values and goals. 16. The Importance of Persistence: Overcoming obstacles and continuing to push forward, even in the face of adversity, is often a key differentiator for successful people. 17. Redefining Success: Success should not only be defined by personal achievement but also by how one’s success positively impacts others and society at large. These lessons collectively suggest that success is more complex than just hard work and talent; it’s shaped by a combination of factors, including timing, culture, opportunity, and persistence.

Many people get confused when they hear a Bitcoiner say, "Bitcoin has no boundaries." 😅🧡 Let’s break it down simply: Today, if I want to send money to a friend or someone living in the USA 🇺🇸 while I’m in Tanzania 🇹🇿, using traditional methods like banks, Western Union, or other remittance services, it can be complicated. Transactions might take hours or even days to complete, not to mention the high fees involved due to intermediaries and currency conversion. But guess what? With Bitcoin, things move differently and much faster! 😅⚡ Thanks to Bitcoin, especially using the Bitcoin Lightning Network, you can send money across borders within just a few seconds — safely, securely, and with minimal fees. So, what is the Bitcoin Lightning Network? The Bitcoin Lightning Network is a second-layer solution built on top of Bitcoin that allows instant payments across the globe. It is designed to make Bitcoin transactions faster, cheaper, and more scalable by processing them off-chain before final settlement on the Bitcoin blockchain. Real-life Example: Today, I received some Satoshis (the smallest unit of Bitcoin) all the way from the USA 🇺🇸 to Tanzania 🇹🇿. The sender used speed Bitcoinwallet , and I received the funds in my @Wallet of Satoshi — all within just a few seconds! 🚀 This is the power of Bitcoin — borderless, instant, and empowering people worldwide without relying on centralized systems. Bitcoin is financial freedom. Bitcoin is the future. 🧡🌍 #Bitcoin #LightningNetwork #BitcoinAfrica #BitcoinTanzania #WalletOfSatoshi #SpeedWallet #BitcoinSafariTz #FinancialFreedom #BorderlessMoney #BitcoinEducation #Satoshis #BitcoinIsHope
