V4V is a coping mechanism for a lack of an algorithm. The algorithm created the Attention Economy. In the AE, “likes” actually help artists a lot. Attention begets more attention which translates to 🤑 on the back end. With V4V, marketing and revenue are separate. With the AE, they’re combined in a flywheel.
