I already know I screwed up a concept on Episode 2 of Motivating the Math. Would be great if I could just pin a post for stuff like this. I didn't explain a Binary Operation (for a Group) correctly. I did leave a reference to a video that does explain it correctly and nothing I said will steer anyone wrong, but these things are what they are . The video addresses things in the first 20 seconds and I highly recommend it. I'm still a noob w.r.t. Abstract Algebra and all things considered I actually think I did it justice. @average_bitcoiner can we pin this post in the show notes?

Thanks bud. All of our conversations are related. This is almost our Phish show in a different language. Maybe you’ll help us out with some of the math one day View quoted note →

As long as we’re in a system of fiat money you never know who is paying you. You might think you’re adding value to somebody but you have no idea whether or not that person is part of the government just trying to influence you by proxy. No human society ever flourished with entrepreneurs ignoring their customers so one can’t be belligerent with those paying them. There are only two ways to operate on a path towards sovereignty: 1. Resist getting paid by a benefactor to the extent possible. This requires stacking bitcoin and living extremely frugally. 2. Spend every second you have destroying the fiat system and working outside it. Should you find yourself unable to resist being paid for your value, at least you can minimize the probability that you’re being bought by someone wishing to control you.

The nostr groupies are gonna hate this but - I enjoyed Nostr much more 18 months ago when it was easy and straightforward to zap. I enjoyed it more when the apps were experimental and developing, before the influencers centralized everyone around Primal. I enjoyed it more when Twitter was much more of an absolute signalless helscape than it is now. I still like it here and its worth the time to keep building here but I don't think the experience is better today. Zaps need to come back and be made a lot easier.

Cryptography itself is a secret. Most math majors never see it until they are deep into their undergrad study and it’s a back-row backseat to Calculus, Analysis, etc. How many cryptographers know the basic math? Bitcoin needs these 2 fields to merge if it is to deliver its promise.

We as Bitcoiners don’t understand what it takes to live this life. The difficulty level goes up constantly and the gravity around us will be one that drains us if our sats if we don’t have strong structures to avoid it. View quoted note →
Earn a few sats while celebrating our 100K milestone. I wrote a song about it. Help me chart on Wavlake - we’re already at #6 after 1 day! View quoted note →
