what i believe is that this generation is unlike any before it. we’re standing at the edge of a transformation that will redefine how humanity understands money. a shift that challenges the norms shaped over 5000 yrs of trade and currency and control. it’s not just big, it’s elemental like discovering fire all over again. in order to fix money we must redefine money. what is money! i think we’re about to discover in the next 15-20 yrs.

study high inflation countries like argentina, venezuela, or turkey, and you’ll see we live in asset based economies. especially study their stock markets. the system demands constant money printing and in return, everything must rise against the devaluing currency. real estate, stocks, art, everything. there is no alternative way. that’s the fiat game. remind me of this note 5 yrs from now when we see bitcoin at a few million dollars and the sp 500 at 15,000.

alright nostr, hear me out. the nostr community should raise funds together and buy a microcap public (non-shell) company to convert into a bitcoin treasury. there’s no better bitcoin native community on earth than the people regularly on nostr which naturally means you’d end up with the most diamond handed shareholder base of any public company. i’ve done a lot of research on this and seriously think we should move fast. it’s not just about the btc treasury, it’s also a killer way to put nostr on the public markets, backed by bitcoin and based shareholders. we could also go the otc route and grab a public shell on otcqb. way more cost-effective. only catch is converting from otcqb to nasdaq is a tougher climb but definitely can be done. just fyi, meta planet is on otcqb right now. @ODELL @Derek Ross @HODL

i’d love to see nostr clients with multi-player games. yeah, i know there’s probably dumb regulatory crap around it and plus some stupid app store rules, but imagine playing poker with your favorite bitcoiners right inside the app. throw in a few sats, turn on voice chat if you want to, PiP mode to browse the latest notes, etc. feels like a killer way to onboard new users too.

seeing people post stuff like “all zaps on this note go to xxx” makes me think this needs a better ux. we should build a tool where you can post a note and set the zap receiver right within the note. would be perfect for micro fundraising.

by the way, loved ross’s speech at the conference. raw, emotional, and full of truth. but someone’s gotta educate him on the rot at the core of every other crypto. totally get that he has no idea yet how ruthless those scammers are. unity among bitcoiners, absolutely. unity with scammers? hard pass.

among all the speeches in the conference, my favorite was @Lyn Alden ’s. laser focused, straight to the point, full picture packed into a short talk.

i don’t think the current bitkey has the right security architecture. i have the device and i’ve been playing with it for the past few weeks now. i’m comfortable putting 0.1 btc on it, but i can’t say the same for 1 btc. it comes back to the same point: bitkey just doesn’t feel like full self-custody. the key issue is that one key sits on the phone and is easily accessible to bitkey to spend funds, which is exactly why i’d never keep more on it than i can afford to lose. no key should live on my phone. if bitkey came with two pairs of hardware instead, and the third key still stayed on their server, i’d feel way more comfortable. if you lose your hardware, you can use your phone together with the key on bitkey’s server to set up new hardware, which means the funds can be moved without your hardware device. in case this happens, i know there is a waiting period and some other security protocols, but the fact that it’s possible makes me question the device. doesn’t matter how that happens, as long as it can happen and that’s the core of the problem.

heard saylor say posting your wallet is risky. that’s one of the dumbest takes i’ve ever heard on bitcoin security. posting your address doesn’t add any new risk. the blockchain is public, all addresses and balances are already out there. if someone wants to steal your bitcoin (which they can’t just from public info), they don’t need your name. no hacker’s out here saying “oh this one’s saylor’s, now i care.” they already have access to all of it. they don’t give a shit who you are. try coming up with a better and less brain-dead excuse.
