Running away to Costa Rica forever sounds pretty nice right now.

The world lost the goodest boy yesterday. I've had Brody since he was a little pup 15 years ago. He was happy and unconditionally loving all the way through the end. He seemed like an immortal ball of energy until the last few days, and even then he kept bouncing back. We would joke that he would live forever and nothing could take him down. My regret is that my wife and daughter witnessed him in his final moments (unexpected) while I was in class and I wasn't there to say goodbye. We're crushed, but that's the price we pay for being so blessed to have these amazing creatures in our lives.

As I sit here reading a textbook for my tax accounting class at 11pm on a Saturday, I am questioning the choices that got me here. I was an aircraft mechanic for over a decade in the military. Why didn't I just use that experience and get into HVAC or something if I wanted to stop with the airplane stuff? But here I am, 35 years old with a wife and kid and 2 semesters away from graduating with a degree in accounting.
