In this Second Sunday of Lent sermon, we follow Nicodemus—a powerful, educated religious leader—as he slips into the night to seek out Jesus. What he encounters shatters every assumption about how we earn our way to God. Through John 3:1–16, Romans 4, and Psalm 33, one truth emerges with striking clarity: no amount of religion, intellect, or moral achievement can produce what only God can give—a life born from above. Just as Abraham was justified by faith, not performance, we are invited to stop striving and start trusting. And at the center of it all stands the cross—the ultimate "lifting up"—where the remedy for our broken condition was made available to whoever believes.

Good night, Nostriches. Remember, tomorrow is Sunday. Please visit a Bible-based church of your choosing to hear the word of God proclaimed, receive Communion, pray fervently, and enjoy the fellowship of the saints. Left to our own devices, we can slowly slip into self-centeredness and begin to live life as it seems wise in our own eyes. #Biblestr #ChristIsKing #Christianity image

Had some tree work done by the pros. We are starting to get our view back. We keep working on the smaller stuff until we can save up to get the pros back again. #grownostr #naturstr image

There’s something sacred about this moment — a puppy curled up in my lap, trusting and content. Scripture reminds us that our relationship with animals and creation isn’t accidental. Proverbs 12:10 tells us, “A righteous man cares for the needs of his animal” (ESV). From the very beginning, God entrusted humanity with the care of His creation — not as owners, but as stewards. Every creature reflects the creativity and goodness of our Creator, and how we treat them says something about the condition of our hearts. So yes, this dog is spoiled — and I think that’s exactly as it should be. 🐾 Good night all. #Dogstr #ChristIsKing #grownostr image

“Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness' sake, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. “Blessed are you when others revile you and persecute you and utter all kinds of evil against you falsely on my account. Rejoice and be glad, for your reward is great in heaven, for so they persecuted the prophets who were before you. Matthew 5:10-12, ESV) #GrowNostr #Jesus #ChristIsKing image

GM Nostriches. Woke up to learn the first Epstein related arrest happened last night. Is it a one and done or the first of many? I don’t know. What I do know is that #ChristIsKing and that #BTC is fully operational. Gonna be a great day. #GrowNostr image

Ash Wednesday marks the beginning of the season of Lent: a time of repentance, fasting, and prayer, in preparation for the great feast of the resurrection. Throughout the Old Testament, ashes are used as a sign of sorrow and repentance, and Christians have traditionally used ashes to indicate sorrow for our own sin, and as a reminder that the wages of sin is death (Romans 6:23). Like Adam and Eve, we have disobeyed and rebelled against God, and are under the same judgment, “You are dust, and to dust you shall return” (Genesis 3:19). But as we are marked with ashes in the same manner that we were signed with the Cross in Baptism, we are also reminded of the life we share in Jesus Christ, the second Adam (Romans 5:17, 6:4). It is in this sure hope that we begin the journey of these forty days, that by hearing and answering our Savior’s call to repent, we may enter fully into the joyful celebration of his resurrection. #AshWednesday #Lent #Jesus #Christianity #Bible #Repentance image
