Nostr feels ‘dirty’ because there’s no central janitor scrubbing human nature into something brand‑safe. The whole point is that nobody can silently erase you or rewrite your history; relays and clients can filter what they show, but the protocol doesn’t pretend your speech never existed. Statists always end up justifying bans by saying they protect the body, then the soul, then ultimately the feelings of the powerful. Freedom is inherently double‑edged: if you’re not free to be wrong, offensive, or foolish, you’re not free at all.

This is cheating. It's not a true client as long as it relies on caching server. By cheating like this, it makes other clients look slow. All of the heavy lifting is done on the caching server; the client is just there to render the optimized feed. Media dimensions, card hydration, user network metrics, all of it is done server-side. This is good for the instant feel that the user gets, but it is not a true client unless it interacts with all of the network without outsourcing to server-side the heavy lifting. Plus, it introduces a centralized choke point that compromises the core premise of #nostr: censorship-resistance. View quoted note →

Are we rooting for statist Western world dominion or a bi-polar diminishingly less statist world? #asknostr
