Set your alarm for a time that gives you optimal sleep cycles and wakes you up when you're coming out of one, not in the middle of one. You'll wake up much more refreshed.
Sleep cycles run around 90 minutes each (give or takeβit's not exact, but it's a good guideline). So if you need to wake at 6:30 AM, count back in 90-minute chunks: 5:00 AM, 3:30 AM, 2:00 AM, 12:30 AM, 11:00 PM. That last one gives you 7.5 hoursβ5 complete cycles.
Hitting snooze puts you at risk of diving back deep into another cycle, and waking from that is much more difficult.
