Fast 1M BTC probably wouldn’t violently crash the fiat system, it’d be like having just another gold sized (ish) asset available to the legions of fiat faithful. People won’t panic until 10M+ IMHO but maybe it’s only 3-5 years between 1M and 10M 🌝

Punkfrens are legendary and largely overlooked. Some digging around on xcancel and webbed sites and I learned they’re probably the first generative pfp collection on bitcoin via counterparty (2021, 1k items, by “thisisfabrique”) and were later encoded onto bitcoin (before ordinals or stamps came on the scene) by JP Janssen (creator of OLGA, perhaps the first nft). So unlike typical counterparty assets, the art will survive even if the website pointer goes down is my understanding (could be wrong, I am often wrong). Despite being a derivative of punks, many are instantly distinguishable because they are gender scrambled— attributes restricted to only to male cryptopunks can end up on females and vice versa (although there is no male and female designation for punkfrens, just “small” and “regular”). In terms of types, there are only “human” or “pepe”, where pepe looks like a cryptopunk ape but green lmao at the effort. Their positioning as “first on bitcoin” without being a direct copy paste of cryptopunks as is the case for ordinals and stamps, their funky jumbled traits (hair color mismatching beard color, general rip off aesthetic with hats being a bit smaller, some outline pixels missing here and there lol), their historic ties with OGs in the experimental bitcoin use space, and their perfect dual positioning between the “pointer” and “stamped” approach to NFTs before ordinals/stamps took off make these possible grails if not at least top tier historic collectibles IMHO. Are there earlier pfp projects out there? There is a “burnedpunk” collection of only 6 members (that I can find) but before that I have not come across any pfps (let’s say >100), generative or not. Counterparty was more about art and baseball card style issuances, not pfps. If you have come across any, let me know in the replies 🐸

I think I’ve landed on being pro-ossify bitcoin, except for quantum upgrades and unforeseen imminent security patches. This means: No unlimited op_return to give bitcoin VCs more scammy free cash. Keep ordinals and stamps, it’s not like there’s a huge demand for them anyway. By the time there is, if ever, PB storage will be available on burner consumer phones and you’ll have 1000 nodes spun up on your neuralink for half a thought anyways. This leaves the path clear for shitcoins like eth and sol so VCs and government ghouls can provide their own services without real competition from a strong bitcoin layer. They’ll never be sound money anyway, I don’t give a flying fuck about what they do anymore. But most important of all GM 🐸
