A low-fi audiozine that puts the punk back in cypherpunk.
I'm working on adaptations of a famous Slovak poet from 1914. Hviezdoslav. Here one i did: A squadron of Demons soar above in the flying V of war whipping the earth with flames — TWO THREE. Spewing sulfur in a trail of meteor dust — Such nightmares haunted our sleep, but wake up! wake to wide white eyes and limbs frozen in fear. O God! Where can I run? Which door to salvation? In which castle can I hide in which village will I be safe? Search the world in vain; everywhere is human slaughter: it follows you in the forests, in the fields, in the oceans, and will follow you to the heavens above. --- He originally wrote these as sonnets but I'm adapting them into free verse. The thing is, he writes these in August 1914 just as world War 1 has started. They are effectively censored until after the war. I'm going through all of these mainly on substack if you want to follow. I will record them to audio once I'm complete and may perhaps drop some here.
When I see the photos of the bitcoin influencers at parties, humble bragging as if this was Instagram, I do wonder if we are any different than the "normies" we cast off. We are so afraid of being sheep, but even the wolves want to don sheep's clothing.
Repaired a tape from 1975 today. This is the common issue I find, is the felt pad falls off. But just stock a few and it's easy to fix. Just pull out the tape, place the new pad and put it all back together.
This book is so fire. How many cypherpunks out there are listening to streaming music I wonder. image
Thus spoke the head of audio and podcast monetization. I don't see this angle talked about much in PC2.0 but a centralized service knows what music you are listening to, so does the client. This is why the decentralized nature of going direct to the rss is always the best. Any having many options for clients and hosting setvices. image
I donated some bitpunk fm tapes to my local record store. Charlie, who is the man, hands them out for me to people who are interested. They are going to hear @Sir HeyCitizen on tape and see a cool photo by @❒ PictureRoom. I'm excited for whomever picks these up!
The war against stamps! I got my first cassette package rejected today, sorry to whomever requested it! I just mail things to whatever address you gave me. I guess I can still use stamps if I just drop it off in person. Ironically the package is more expensive to mail with just stamps than using the label. But for those of you that make an attempt to keep your privacy via the postcard protocol, I try to respect it. Or maybe my FM radio kits and samizdat cassettes are just too radical for the post office!! I'll get this back out in the mail soon.
