Visionary “Since production must always precede predation, the free market is anterior to the State. The State has never been created by a “social contract”; it has always been born in conquest and exploitation.” - Murray Rothbard

Guns, Guns and Steel goes into great detail about why certain societies have thrived and others have been conquered. The main takeaway is that geography is probably the main driver. While useful, this book is explanatory for times when property is largely physical/tangible. It does nothing to explain or even anticipate a time when property is digital. When property is digital, it doesn’t matter who has the horses, who has the gunpowder, and who has the domesticated animals. What matters is whether you possess wealth and influence in the powerful domain which, as Bitcoiners know, is transitioning to cyberspace. Praise Guns, Germs, and Steel for its explanation of the past, but be skeptical of its predictive power going forward. #bookstr

Just finished building a Bitcoin Savings Planner in Excel! It lets you input your current holdings, anticipated future income, savings rate, target BTC amount, then see how different price models could impact your progress. Adjust your savings accordingly!

As the State shrinks in size, it will be less capable of manipulating market forces. This means that the industries that are currently being propped up by the State will die or at least reduce in size dramatically. This will likely include military contractors, pharma, Wall Street, lobbyists, renewable energy etc. Conversely, industries that the State has been stifling will begin to grow. These could include oil/gas, personal defense, general security, and local agriculture.

Normies have no concept of spontaneous order. They believe that every system must be designed and enforced top-down. They insist on elaborate rituals in an attempt to find the smartest, most benevolent leader and hope they aren’t corrupted by the power.

This is my first year without watching the Super Bowl. I am treating this as a testament to my personal growth.

I used to fantasize about the day when normies would admit that they were wrong about everything, but I’m beginning to realize that that day will never come. Most people would rather douse themselves in seed oils and die early or double down on fiat and remain poor than ever admit that they were wrong. Most value their ego more than the truth.

When I was a kid, I hated reading because I found the books in school boring. If we want children to read, we should allow them to pursue their own curiosity.

I still can’t believe that I can exchange my fiat for the scarcest asset in the history of the world.

Normies need an “expert” to tell them how to act. They are uncomfortable thinking for themselves.

Im starting to believe that hypernostrization will happen before hyperbitcoinization. 1. The value of freedom of speech is far more understood than the value of sound money. I feel way more confident in my ability to purple-pill someone than my ability to orange-pill someone. Purple-pilling takes a few minutes. Orange-pilling takes hours, at least. 2. Debanking is far less common than banning on legacy social media. Most people don’t read and therefore dont learn from the pain of others. They won’t know the stove is hot until they touch it themselves. It’s fairly common for posts to get flagged or taken down on legacy social media, but it’s much less common for someone’s bank account to be seized (at least for now). Maybe if we see crazy high inflation and/or a reduction in internet censorship over the next few years, my opinon could change, but for now, I actually think that nostr’s trajectory is even more vertical than bitcoin’s.

Fiat ruins many things, but among the most egregious is elder care. Nursing homes do not cut it. You cannot pay someone else to care about your family as much as you do.
