“The sluggard does not plow in the autumn; he will seek at harvest and have nothing.
The purpose in a man’s heart is like deep water, but a man of understanding will draw it out. Many a man proclaims his own steadfast love, but a faithful man who can find?
The righteous who walks in his integrity— blessed are his children after him!
A king who sits on the throne of judgment winnows all evil with his eyes.
Who can say, ‘I have made my heart pure; I am clean from my sin’?”

“A fool’s lips walk into a fight, and his mouth invites a beating. A fool’s mouth is his ruin, and his lips are a snare to his soul. The name of the Lord is a strong tower; the righteous man runs into it and is safe.
A rich man’s wealth is his strong city, and like a high wall in his imagination. Before destruction a man’s heart is haughty, but humility comes before honor.”

“Whoever covers an offense seeks love, but he who repeats a matter separates close friends. A rebuke goes deeper into a man of understanding than a hundred blows into a fool.
Whoever restrains his words has knowledge, and he who has a cool spirit is a man of understanding. Even a fool who keeps silent is considered wise; when he closes his lips, he is deemed intelligent.”

“One thing have I asked of the Lord, that will I seek after: that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to gaze upon the beauty of the Lord and to inquire in his temple.”

“Everyone who is arrogant in heart is an abomination to the Lord; be assured, he will not go unpunished.
When a man’s ways please the Lord, he makes even his enemies to be at peace with him. Better is a little with righteousness than great revenues with injustice.
Good sense is a fountain of life to him who has it, but the instruction of fools is folly. The heart of the wise makes his speech judicious and adds persuasiveness to his lips.
Gray hair is a crown of glory; it is gained in a righteous life.”

“From the fruit of his mouth a man eats what is good, but the desire of the treacherous is for violence. Whoever guards his mouth preserves his life; he who opens wide his lips comes to ruin.
By insolence comes nothing but strife, but with those who take advice is wisdom. Wealth gained hastily will dwindle, but whoever gathers little by little will increase it.
A good man leaves an inheritance to his children’s children, but the sinner’s wealth is laid up for the righteous.
Whoever spares the rod hates his son, but he who loves him is diligent to discipline him.”

“An excellent wife is the crown of her husband, but she who brings shame is like rottenness in his bones.
An evil man is ensnared by the transgression of his lips, but the righteous escapes from trouble.
From the fruit of his mouth a man is satisfied with good, and the work of a man’s hand comes back to him. The way of a fool is right in his own eyes, but a wise man listens to advice.
The vexation of a fool is known at once, but the prudent ignores an insult. Whoever speaks the truth gives honest evidence, but a false witness utters deceit. There is one whose rash words are like sword thrusts, but the tongue of the wise brings healing.”

“A false balance is an abomination to the Lord, but a just weight is his delight. When pride comes, then comes disgrace, but with the humble is wisdom. The integrity of the upright guides them, but the crookedness of the treacherous destroys them.
A man who is kind benefits himself, but a cruel man hurts himself.
Be assured, an evil person will not go unpunished, but the offspring of the righteous will be delivered. Like a gold ring in a pig’s snout is a beautiful woman without discretion.”

GM

For whomever it is close to being Sunday. May beautiful flowers and new morning mercies flood over you this morning. ☀️🌸

Sometimes we can’t see the beauty that is just before us. It’s as if there is a veil over our eyes. And we. Can. Not. See.
Can you see beauty, even in the difficult situations? Kids, situations, circumstances, imbalance, destruction, pain? Does beauty change if we cannot see it? Or is it there even if we cannot see it?
Enjoy beauty and the beauty in others.

“I, wisdom, dwell with prudence, and I find knowledge and discretion.
The fear of the Lord is hatred of evil. Pride and arrogance and the way of evil and perverted speech I hate.
I have counsel and sound wisdom; I have insight; I have strength. By me kings reign, and rulers decree what is just; by me princes rule, and nobles, all who govern justly.
I love those who love me, and those who seek me diligently find me. Riches and honor are with me, enduring wealth and righteousness. My fruit is better than gold, even fine gold, and my yield than choice silver.
I walk in the way of righteousness, in the paths of justice, granting an inheritance to those who love me, and filling their treasuries.”

Big Sky Country Lyrics
[Verse 1]
My father told me of a place where he was born
And how he left as soon as he was grown
He said if I could change the things I did before
I'da stayed and called that place my home
[Chorus]
I wanna see that big sky over my head
I wanna feel that soft ground where I was planted
I wanna have a little bit of growing for my heart
Where you can look up at night and hear the song of the stars
[Verse 2]
We'll climb the rimrocks, pretend their mountaintops
We'll watch the flat land stretch out far below
The clouds will pile up high like cities in the sky
We'll dream about them, but we'll never know, no
[Chorus]
I wanna see that big sky over my head
I wanna feel that soft ground where I was planted
I wanna have a little bit of growing for my heart
Where you can look up at night and hear the song of the stars
[Bridge]
Just give me that big sky country
That's where I'm meant to be
That's where I'm going before long
Just give me that sweet sky country
That's everything I'll ever need, I know
Big sky country is my home
[Verse 3]
We'll find some buffalo bones
Float down to Yellowstone
We'll stop in buildings, visit all our kin
And we won't have to stay, but we'll have to come back some day
'Cause where you start is where you have to end
[Chorus]
I wanna see that big sky over my head
I wanna feel that soft ground where I was planted
I wanna have a little bit of growing for my heart
Where you can look up at night and hear the song of the stars
[Bridge]
Just give me that big sky country
That's where I'm meant to be
That's where I'm going before long
Just give me that sweet sky country
That's everything I'll ever need, I know
Big sky country is my home

“With much seductive speech she persuades him; with her smooth talk she compels him. All at once he follows her, as an ox goes to the slaughter, or as a stag is caught fast till an arrow pierces its liver; as a bird rushes into a snare; he does not know that it will cost him his life.
And now, O sons, listen to me, and be attentive to the words of my mouth. Let not your heart turn aside to her ways; do not stray into her paths, for many a victim has she laid low, and all her slain are a mighty throng. Her house is the way to Sheol, going down to the chambers of death.”
