#Monero using #libertarian who loves computer networking, distributed systems, privacy tech, and testing beta software. I may not be a pro, but I can file an excellent bug report. Donate Monero (XMR): https://kuno.anne.media/fundraiser/zzn3/ Annual fiat salary: 41 XMR 42WimCbGoy5SVZfkr5YdwtAg9jvpxFfNXfBjM2CJAUZC9JNAKZ34hF6a35HJNXWyw1ctxhSKp4MjfgR3uT8Eneq4GCwtqTs ShortwaveSurfer2009 Monero RPC: msbrjgnzkf72q4dcdmyaaxjwpssb7egtqdc7oisam7ihshkkmpcq4cqd.onion:18089 https://smp15.simplex.im/a#P99yLk0Wm9o1qks_M4uuf5cTqz8mua9QhyaByz2gIR8
lol, I was telling somebody who uses pretty mainstream tech about my tech setup and it made me realize that I've gone so far from mainstream that I couldn't see mainstream with a NASA observatory.
You think you dont have enough #Monero right? Well let me help with that If all the Monero in existence were fairly divided among Global population (8.3B) = 2.3mXMR/person Half globe (4.15B) 4.6mXMR/person 1/8 globe (1.04B) 18.12mXMR/person
Might #MeshCore and #Meshtastic default presets be illegal (US)? It sounds like the MINIMUM bandwidth may be 500khz. MeshCore uses 62.5 as default and Meshtastic uses 250 as its default. If the bandwidth must be raised in order to comply with the law, then the mesh will not go as far, because wider bandwidth equals more noise from the universe, which means lower signal range.
If I'm selling a product worth less than 3 #Monero, I am willing to accept zero conf. I would not consider doing that on the coin that shall not be named because of RBF.
This is a perfect example of why I still have a CEX account. Last FCA I put up a buy offer on #RetoSwap and it was taken in less than 12 hours. So far its been 48. Will keep waiting. I think the variance is truly the biggest problem. Just from my two samples so far, the average has been 30 hours to get a trade accepted. #Monero
I wonder how much, if any, of #Monero's use as P2P currency affects blowoff tops or significant drops in value. You would think that since Monero changes hands more often and has a higher velocity that it would be less susceptible to as large swings in value. Monero does seem to be at least subjectively less volatile than the coin that shall not be named.
I am not a dev, but I had noticed this was a problem in the past and dismissed it and it was brought up again today and I decided I would try to do something about it. Had I been allowed to do so, I would have opened an issue instead of attempting, probably incorrectly, to fix it myself. If somebody more intelligent than me could take a look at it and see if I did it wrong, I'd appreciate it. #Monero
The LR2021 is a 4th gen #LoRa chip that should double max speeds on the #MeshCore and #Meshtastic networks. Should allow for more devices on the mesh without running into airtime limits. I have heard that ShortTurbo was able to host upwards of 2,000 nodes but I'm not sure as to how much headroom was remaining before hitting the utilization limits.
Huh, that's kind of interesting. A team wants to spend 40,540 #Monero to send a probe off to Alpha Centauri that would arrive in 75,000 years. Before I read the article, I was like, there's no way that any of our technology would ever last long enough, and we would need redundancies on top of redundancies on top of redundancies, and then it still wouldn't get there in an operating condition. After reading the article, it seems to me as though the point isn't to get it there in operating condition, but to send out a probe to knock off one of the filters of the Fermi Paradox about intelligent species not sending probes before going extinct.
