Why so long between difficulty adjustments? #Monero ...adjusts its network difficulty every single block to keep its time pretty close to two minutes.

So, i did the math. To reach the 1:4,000 density of the cellular network would require 13 #MeshCore nodes at a cost of 4 #Monero.
How close is #Cuprate to being able to be run as my primary #Monero daemon? I just had a look and it apparently has wallet RPC support now.

#XMRBazaar, please add a filter so that I can specifically kill all fiat listings. I have no desire whatsoever to purchase from a seller on a platform that takes #Monero that is willing to price their items in fiat. Fuck them. They do not deserve my hard-earned Monero.

You know, i think something like the #Lilygo T-Watch could work really well on a 2.4GHz mesh rather than 900MHz.
The T-Watch had 3 big issues
1. The antenna was too long to fit in the device itself, so had to be placed in the watch band. Break your band and you break your antenna.
2. The touchscreen and esp32 caused the device to die quickly.
3. The 900 mAh battery did not help the point above.
I remember having a really tiny Fitbit tracker back in like 2017 that paired with my phone over Bluetooth and it was super tiny and had great battery life.
At 900 megahertz a quarter wavelength antenna is still 8.25 centimeters long whereas at 2.4 gigahertz the same quarter wave antenna is only 3.25 centimeters long and a 3.25 centimeter antenna should be able to fit inside the body of the watch itself and not have to be placed in the watch band.
Remove the display and use Bluetooth to pair it with your phone and use the NRF52 chip instead of the ESP32 and you would actually have a really good device.
I seriously hope somebody tries a watch again once 2.4 GHz is more commonly used for the mesh.

Have a look at #XMRPod from the creators of #XMRChat. Its an #AntennaPod fork that adds #Monero tipping in the player screen. You just click the little Monero tip icon, put in your display name, choose your currency, whether it be Monero or Fiat, put in the amount and your message, and click open wallet and it opens your Monero wallet.
I really like the app icon because they took the antenna pod logo and then put the Monero logo into it such that it looks like the antenna is sticking up between two mountain peaks.

Because of the #ColdCard incident I decided to create a new #Monero wallet seed and add a strong passphrase.
I deleted and restored the wallet several times on different wallets to make sure everything worked before moving my funds to it.
As a #blind person I feel as though the internet and technology in general may have surpassed what I could possibly demand from them.
As an example, i pay 106 mXMR/mo for internet and get 100 mbps symmetrical and don't nearly use all of it. It's literally the cheapest and lowest speed internet plan I am capable of getting in my area.
Another example is for a "new" phone I was looking at a 2024 Moto G, because it could run lineage OS, for 394 mXMR and it is considered a low-end device by today's standards but would still be a slight upgrade from my 2021 mid-range device.
I am a heavy technology user compared to the rest of my friends and still tech has surpassed my demands of it, so what does that say about them?
The most demanding things I do on the internet are YouTube videos, downloading audiobooks, and software updates. I have no need for 4K videos, or virtual reality, or downloading 500GB or terabyte games from Steam, etc.
Just ordered groceries. I have been eating #Monero for 3.5 years. π

I have heard MK4, MK5, Q, etc are somewhat safer because they had 70 bits of entropy but its only a matter of time. Does this mean anything with 70 bits of entropy is now crackable? I looked at the passphrase used to access my password manager and its only 78 bits of entropy and i am wondering if it is safe enough now.

On the clearnet you will be
1. Unable to watch porn.
2. Required to give your real name and ID in order to use social media.
3. Arrested for "mean tweets", "anti-government views", "liking subversive memes", etc
4. Only be allowed to use approved applications from Apple, Google, Microsoft, etc

What you can do to prepare
1. Set your downlink speed to 10-15mbps to acclimatize yourself
2. Encourage app developers to host their applications on Onion and Eepsite domains. (Git repos, fdroid repos, linux distro repos, etc)
3. Run all applications that support SOCKS5 over the Tor SOCKS port (9050) (#Fdroid, #Signal, #SimpleX, #AntennaPod, etc)
4. Use bookmarks or password manager notes to have the URLs of your commonly used programs, services, and repos (#Monero, #XMRBazaar, #Pitch, #Dread, etc.)
5. Get used to text messages instead of audio or video calls. (Audio and video use UDP and generally give your real IP to either a central STUN server or the other peer. (it may be possible to force audio and video calls over TCP exclusively, but the latency would be high and therefore make the call unenjoyable.)
