#Monero using #libertarian who loves computer networking, distributed systems, privacy tech, and testing beta software. I may not be a pro, but I can file a mean bug report. So, #CloakedWireless throttles to 128kbps after you exhaust your high-speed data allotment. Android has functionality to simulate slow network speeds, and 128 is one of the options, so I gave it a try to see what would and would not work. I was unable to stream audio podcasts in any form, even when I tried putting it down to 0.9x speed. My nostr clients absolutely refused. Mastodon and Lemmy both worked, though Lemmy was quite slow to load at first I was able to browse the cloaked wireless website, so I assume that I should be able to get into my account dashboard and add a data pass if I needed it. And last but not least, I noticed no problems with messaging apps such as SimpleX or Signal whatsoever.
Going to be switching to #CloakedWireless in March so i can pay my phone bill in #Monero. I am going to have 500MB high speed data and unlimited low speed data. I currently use T-Mobile connect where i get 5GB of high speed data but then it shuts off completely unless i buy a pass or my bill cycle renews. I have a device that was released in 2021 and did a #5G speed test because I haven't done one in a while and managed to pull 270 MBPS over the 5G network. I think if I tried to do a 5G speed test on Cloaked, I would probably use my entire high speed data allotment in one shot, so don't really intend to do that.
Just to be on the absolute safe side, I would make sure to have a battery capable of putting out 2.5 amps. Better to have it and not need it than to need it and not have it. #Meshtastic #MeshCore View quoted note โ†’
TLDW, you CAN power the 1 watt booster from a lithium battery. The battery is 3.7v and the booster needs 5v at 1.5a so it steps up from 3.7 to 5v. If I am doing my math correctly, this means your lithium battery needs to be able to put out 2a at full power. #Meshtastic #MeshCore View quoted note โ†’
BTC Sessions talked about a thing from River Financial that mentioned that #bitcoin #lightning payments grew 300% in 2025. Congratulations, there are now a whopping three lightning payments up from one lol. Que thee hate... ๐ŸŒŠ
Signal was not working and it turns out that something is up with #Tor since I use it as a socks proxy. image
Well jeez. My Third Reality thermometer told #HomeAssistant my room was 76F and its only Feb. That got me thinking that I had never finished setting up my air conditioner automation to use the thermometer instead of the timers, so I went ahead and fixed that problem. I had the temperature triggers set up and disabled when I first got the thermometer, but I never set up the actions blocks.
