Reminder to use CLIENT_MUTE when you are on a plane. #Meshtastic
#MoneroTopia2026 Day 3 David Burkett told us how we could use Litecoin MWEB to get in/out of Monero if CEXes are needed, Dr K told us how Quai is scaling towards mass adoption, Joel Valenzuela talked about living on crypto without a bank account (see screenshot at end for options) We then had a Zano panel and talked about wrapping transparent assets such as Bitcoin on Zano and making them private. We had a couple talks in spanish which i did not attend because i don't speak spanish. kapu gave a talk about Qubes OS and Casiojapi gave a talk about zero knowledge proofs. Vit Jedlicka talked about the growth of Liberland and hard questions were asked of Bitmain. The day concluded with a great privacy panel. image #MoneroTopia26 #Monero

Apparently the creator of #Ridestr doesn't want their app to be used because they won't support #Monero calling it a "shitcoin". That makes the app totally useless. At least I can get a lyft or Uber with a gift card paid for with Monero.
Okay, I was able to ask for clarification on this point during the Monero panel and got a proper answer. No, this would not be visible on chain, so would not affect the fungibility of Monero transactions, and would not be visible to chain analysis companies. However, a user of another wallet would not be able to spend it unless they had code in the wallet to understand those nonces. The money would exist, but the wallets, by default, would just skip it and not realize that it was there until you added code to scan for that particular nonce set. View quoted note →
Well, day 2 of #MoneroTopia2026 is in the books ArticMine reminded us that every peer-to-peer transaction makes blockchain tracing exponentially harder on top of Monero"s already top notch privacy. Sadly Rucknium was unable to give his talk. Jeffro fed us some carrot information and Brandon Goodell have us a good talk about open society and that cashless culture won't remain open long due to censorship. If you are a math nut then you got a good talk on SLver bullet. cake gave us a new UI and talked about supply chain security and reproducible builds. We then sat down with Diego Salazar to ask what we are even doing here. We also had a fantastic Monero panel where many questions were asked. #MoneroTopia26 #Monero
Don't judge a book by its cover. When i saw Brandon Goodell, researcher, and CLSAG I immediately thought it was going to be a math talk. I was going to have to skip. But it turned out to be a talk about open societies and that cashless societies would not be open societies for very long due to needing third-party permission to transact. #MoneroTopia2026 #MoneroTopia26 #Monero
Hey, in Jeffro's #Monerotopia2026 talk he mentioned that the wallet outputs will have nonces such as 0/1, payment/change, peanutbutter/jelly as examples. He said this was to prevent a burning bug, otherwise the key image would be the same if you had two transactions, and you could only spend one of them. I sent a tip and asked if different wallets implemented different nonces if that would make the transactions identifiable. Based on his answer, I believe it does, so if a wallet was to implement a nonce different than all the other wallets, then chain analysis would be able to tell that that particular wallet sent that transaction? Kind of like how Monerujo Pocket Change can be identified on chain now. Would the receiver of such a non-standard transaction not be able to spend it? #Monero #MoneroTopia26
Just listened to Darknet Market Maximalism by xenu again. #Monero
Just being honest, were I in person, I would probably skip a lot of these talks and go to the marketplace instead. Mainly because some of these talks are about very low level things that I am not equipped to understand the mathematics behind. I know they do their best to simplify it for the audience, but still, I have to trust they know what they're doing. #Monero View quoted note →
Who is ready for #MoneroTopia2026 Day 2? Part 1 stream link: Part 2 stream link: #MoneroTopia26 #Monero
I just uninstalled #Monero.com wallet. Here's why: 1. My primary wallet is #Monfluo and has been for some time, therefore 2. I had to sync lots of blocks when I opened Monero.com wallet 3. Monero.com wallet was slow to load while using #Tor. It would take something like 10 or 15 seconds just to open the pin pad at app start. 4. It was only syncing at half the speed of Monfluo using the exact same self-hosted onion node. 5. Monfluo is available via an F-Droid repo where Cake/Monero.com no longer care. I had to manually download every update when I wanted it. 6. The app was HUGE by comparison. Monfluo is much better on disk space usage. 7. Monfluo does a better job starting a background service and synchronizing even when the wallet is not on screen. #Monero
Well, day one of #MoneroTopia2026 has come and gone. Today's focus was primarily on philosophy and why we do what we do and why we believe what we believe in the #cypherpunk community. We had great talks from Lando Rothbardian, @npub16yes...90ll, Derrick Broze, Ray Youssef (The War Chief), and Michael Hassard capped off the evening by reminding us that our friends are being held hostage by the corrupt political system. #MoneroTopia26 #Monero
