The infamous Wallet of Satoshi that everyone likes to dunk on for being custodial has been upgraded with the Spark protocol. Is it now fair to say that WoS gives you self-custody? Is Spark any good? Here's my honest review of the beta including some experiments.
hey guys. you like a youtube video. what are you gonna do?
1. get a domain
2. install debian on a VPS. good CPU recommended, pay at least 20 USD/month
3. install yunohost and configure your domain
4. via yunohost, install peertube
5. download the video you like with yt-dlp and upload it to your peertube instance
there's only one litecoin wallet that works on linux and supports mweb and isn't complete ass. it's litecoin core and it requires you to download the whole blockchain. the "official" electrum-ltc doesn't support mweb and has been abandoned for a while. there's a fork that does mweb but it's unofficial and also doesn't support peg-in or peg-out. cake has a linux version but it doesn't include mweb support yet.
you can do cake on your phone, some other phone app nobody has heard of, a full node on your computer, or some sketchy half finished electrum thing. that's it. very sad.
and there's basically no infrastructure for acquiring fresh mweb LTC. the liquidity specifically for mweb coins across trocador is a joke, there's no bisq clone or anything like that, and centralized exchanges and payment processors will probably hassle you if your coins have been removed from mweb recently. if they want this thing to be taken seriously they have a huge amount of work ahead of them.
