I trust the ethereum consensus mechanism more than I trust the liquid federation. the companies that run liquid can steal all the bitcoin and nothing in the protocol actually prevents them from doing that. a person who holds ETH on L1 or Arbitrum or Base actually holds ETH. the optimistic rollups can't actually steal the ETH because there's unilateral exit. A person who holds "liquid bitcoin" is holding an IOU with no unilateral exit. if all your money is in the liquid sidechain, congratulations, you don't own any bitcoin. you will own nothing and eat the bugs. it would be nice if bitcoin had rollups. ark has been described as a "pseudo-rollup." ark will work much better if it has covenants. there are different flavors of ark, and the ones that don't use OP_CTV have user experience problems that will harm their adoption. it would be really stupid if the user experience of ark was worse than the user experience of Arbitrum

another aqua wallet "clone" called misty breez has been released. this one is simpler than aqua. it removes liquid assets and hides the fact that you have a liquid address with a balance. you might be able to import your seed into a different liquid wallet in order to actually interact with the underlying liquid address, but they hide all of this from the user to make it simpler. you can only send and receive on L1 or lightning. one big benefit is the addition of free lnurl addresses ending in "breez.fun." aqua doesn't have that. here is a reminder that wallets like this are still custodial despite what the marketing materials say. the actual bitcoin is held in the custody of the liquid federation. you are not getting bitcoin's security model. additionally, since payments are routed through boltz, it isn't permissionless or censorship resistant either. boltz is not a decentralized application. it can go down or censor payments. and don't forget that lnurl relies on the legacy DNS system, where your name can easily be taken away from you or given to someone else. if you think that misty breez is an improvement over aqua because it removes altcoins, don't be fooled. L-BTC is still an altcoin. if you use misty breez, you are using pretend bitcoin. this isn't good enough and you deserve better. don't get complacent. https://blog.breez.technology/misty-breez-lightning-made-easy-b2090bb7435c

Ark has NO CHANCE of being successful without OP_CTV. covenantless-ark has way too many basic things missing that will harm adoption. Ark needs CTV in order to have all the basic functionality it requires.

this is why ark needs covenants. don't just sit there and go "duh, they made ark work already, we don't need no stinkin softforks." it's not that simple and you have to look more deeply. the ark design keeps changing and there are different versions of it with different user experiences. ark without covenants has user experience problems that will harm its adoption. complacency hinders technological progress. don't be a boob.
