Whatever cash he received was used to pay for his land and for taxes, and he always had a nest egg for a rainy day. He had little cash, but he had independence. Channel management idea: Say I have a stand at a farmers market. I use my new Bolt 12 address to accept small payments for eggs, baked goods, and jellies all over lightning. But if someone wants to buy half a cow, they might want to pay on-chain. Could I give them an on-chain invoice that is actually a splice to add capacity to my lightning channel? If I have a bill due to one of my suppliers that is approximately the value of half a cow, could I splice the payment into their side of our lightning channel? It would seem this would have privacy gains similar to coinjoin while also helping with my channel capacity management.
