"The Ungoverned," by Vernor Vinge, is a sci-fi novella that started me down the anarcho-capitalist path many years ago. Many of VInge's works explore anarcho-capitalism, agorism, and "The Singularity". The full text of "The Ungoverned" is available for free here. It's worth the hour or so to read it.
