Just posting to say how much I love using Voyage on mobile and am hoping that @dluvian will eventually launch a web-based version.
In the next few months, I'm thinking about picking up a 'clunker' of a refurbished laptop to use for work (and Nostr, of course). The plan is to use it mostly for doing web-based tasks, but it wouldn't hurt to have a decent-sized SSD in case for the odd software I want to mess around with. I see a lot of YouTubers and bloggers mentioning the ThinkPad T480 as the last 'best' machine. Any validity to that? Any other sturdy machines that I could use for day-to-day email, report writing, etc.? Oh, one last thing: I intend to use Mint, Ubuntu, or something similar. #asknostr
Venmo and other centralized platforms are reporting people's personal transactions as income? What go wrong? Wake up, people. Use your cash, gold, Bitcoin, and Monero. Stop using centralized services!
I love that Nym.bar has geohash rooms. Has anyone ever created a GoogleMaps alternative that uses geohash addresses? I messed around with what3words some years ago, but I understand it's proprietary, which goes against our ideals of free and open source technology. #asknostr
Last year, someone recommended Voyage as a text-only Nostr app for Android. I use it quite several times a day when on the go and don't want to scroll through memes and graphics. Is there any comparable web-based implementation? What text-only Nostr apps exist that I can scroll through on my laptop? #asknostr
If any of our UK-based nostriches wouldn't mind chiming in, I'm genuinely curious to know how big of a problem Christian nationalism is over there. From what reports I've received, a huge percentage of people are Christmas & Easter-only Christians or have stopped going to church altogether. I know my information is merely anecdotal, but I still can't imagine that there's a major contingent of radical Christian nationalists stirring up trouble in the UK. But please do educate me if I'm in the wrong on this one. #asknostr #UK
I turned off my VPN for the first time in forever to test something and forgot to switch it back on. However, I finally caught it when I tried to go to Archive.today, only to find that my local ISP had blocked the site, claiming it was some kind of scam site. This is the first time I've ever encountered such a warning from my ISP, which goes to show that it really does pay to have a VPN. Who is my ISP to tell me whether I can use an alternative archiving site or not?! #privacy #freedomtech
