I record people telling their life stories. Most of my clients are farm families. I have a podcast: The Ag Tribes Report
What is the best resource to introduce someone to Austrian economics?
You think if you have a bunch of private land, you have privacy. You don’t. Your cameras can be seized, your photos looked at and they don’t have to even tell you they did that, let alone get a warrant https://www.agweb.com/news/business/farmland/game-wardens-steal-private-landowners-trail-camera-lawsuit-explodes
Nostr- this is the kind of farmer we need to bring into the Bitcoin community. He knows big scale agriculture but is creating systems for backyard chickens and pasture raised livestock inside the rows of corn.

This Citadel Dispatch podcast with #[0] is a great example of an advanced conversation. They discuss the past history of things like Silk Road and why commodity traders saw the value of bitcoin, they talked about layer 2 protocols and how innovation is driven by necessity and they had real conversations about economics.
Too many BTC podcasts are saying the same thing- this episode was all signal, explaining things even long time players wouldn’t know or realize.

My favorite guest is a man named Joscha Bach I just had him on for the third time.
we talked about mistaken compassion, why moms are drugging themselves with ssri’s, how to get over addiction, why churches are failing in the modern age.
My audience is largely comprised of farmers and some of this will offend them and other parts will make intuitive sense. I wonder what nostr will think…

The skyhook introduction: how to develop the skill of connecting people.

How to Make a Skyhook
A practical way to introduce two people to each other like a pro.
Wild article from the best writer in all of agriculture- Chris Bennet
“Let me be clear: Without the Judas goats, there were not enough men in south Omaha to move 1,000-plus sheep up a ramp because the sheep would bunch up or balk. In other words, the plant was truly dependent on the Judas goats to betray the sheep.” https://www.agweb.com/news/livestock/beef/slaughterhouse-kings-recalling-creepy-reign-judas-goats
Email is broken.
There is this new email marketing trick where a company sends you one email from a person supposedly wanting to talk about your business and then a few minutes later you get an email from their “manager” saying “I’m just gonna jump in where X person left off and offer to schedule time with you personally.
So now instead of getting one junk email I’m going to delete and block now I have to do 2. I wish there was a way to inflict a cost on them for wasting my time and attention.
I want a system where you have to pay sats to be able to send me an email so that spammers go broke.
There is a special place in hell for people that make online recipes where you have to scroll past pages of exposition to find out how many fucking grams of basil do you need to make pesto
Oh boy- ok I can now detect when someone is sending me a chat gpt email and it instantly pisses me off if the personal email is more than 3-4 sentences long because they are having a system generate noise that they didn’t do proof of work to create. ..ie typing.
It feels insulting. How do you feel about it

Crazy things happening in ag right now:
1. Winter wheat out west is fucking toast- drought killed it,
2. the national cattle herd is as low as it’s been since the 60’s, ranchers are selling off heifers so it’s not coming back soon. Too expensive to truck in hay all the grass is dead.
3. Meat Packers are hinting they may shut down old facilities which could take beef supplies down by 5% or more sky rocketing beef prices, but obliterating the fats market. All those cattle ranchers are selling won’t have anywhere to go.
4. Wholesale egg prices drop from $5.00+ per dozen to below $0.97 a few weeks of this can be managed, but a month and we will see the little guys selling out…
5. Equipment prices up, input prices up, and a big part of the country is low on water.
What is something beautiful you noticed this week?
