Selling bitcoin to cover mining costs is opaque. You sell fiat to cover the electricity bill and get rewarded with harder money.
People who have to sell their bitcoin to cover mining costs are doing essentially two things: putting downward pressure on the price, thereby hurting their own bottom line; and, most likely, scaling their operations with debt, which makes the whole thing even worse.
You essentially become a dirty speculator who is simply hoping for NGU to squeeze out 3% net profit, until a sudden sell-off hits, you get margin called, and eventually end up broke or bankrupt.
That kind of “mining” looks a hell of a lot more like day trading. With leverage.
This is why I support the 1-year coinbase maturity extension. It basically says: if you want to mine, you must be willing to hold.

Spamcoin disrespector.
Another retarded meme putting Bitcoiners in a state of complacency. “Don’t do anything, just sit back and relax, Bitcoin will do the rest.”
Sorry, it doesn’t work that way.

Just a 100x from here and Bitcoin is back to parity with Suitcoin.

Each time I type “suitcoin”, my autocorrect changes it to “shitcoin”. For once I’m happy with my autocorrect for doing a fine job. 😅
I love how these retards keep criticising us without even being aware of our goals, why BIP-110 was created in the first place, why we didn’t want large OP_RETURNS in default policy, or how we intended to fight spam.
Sometimes I wonder if these people are really that ignorant, or if they’re simply mentally ill. You really just need to read the contents and FAQ on bip110.org and not embarrass yourself publicly. But no, apparently even that’s too much to ask. 🙂↔️

The shitcoiners will keep scamming you while your Bitco… er, Bithereum, keeps getting diluted with paper, clogged with spam, and the perimeter around it becomes completely surveilled and permissioned.
nvk is right about one thing: it’s your bitcoin on the line.
