This is great, and I would add to it… People project their fears onto whatever “other” they have identified and then unleash their anger onto them. Often due to a misunderstanding. When someone acts in a certain way it often has nothing to do with you and mainly to do with their own unresolved issues. View quoted note →

Power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely. Macron is no different than Moxie launching a shitcoin, or Durov lying about Telegram’s encryption. We are all blind to hypocrisy without the people around us keeping us honest. May we keep friends close that call us on our bullshit. It stings in the moment, but it protects us from our ego in the longterm. #Nostr and #Bitcoin are technical manifestations of that check on the ego. They’re imperfect, but the best protocols we currently have in a world that has become unhinged. May the transition be peaceful.

To quote Gordon Brander: things that are simultaneously true: 1. telegram is not an encrypted app 2. it is marketed as an encrypted app 3. the arrest of Telegram’s founder is probably possible because it is not an encrypted app 4. the arrest normalizes prosecuting people who build encrypted apps View quoted note →

This pod with Pieter Levels has motivated me to just build and ship the ideas I’ve had over the past few years. I love his mentality to just build shit and see what sticks. Don’t spend too much time on perfecting things. Just ship. I’m currently building a product I need for my business and will try his indie hacker style. Build completely out in the open, self-funded and bootstrapped. I can focus on customers and build for the longterm. I will try to charge money and validate the business case quickly. But if a product is not profitable, no pressure to shut it down. I’ll just let it run and use it myself while waiting for the market to catch up (or not) and focus on building other product ideas. Most ideas will fail. His failure rate is 95% and I expect no different for my ideas. I’m really enjoying coding again and am close to having a first PoC running. This week I used to generate an app icon and privacy policy. Can’t wait to share more soon! View quoted note →
