I'll refrain from debating theology, as I don't see it helpful in this scenario, however I do have concern for truth. Perspectives and opinions are okay. But I value honesty and integrity. It's one thing to disagree with Catholic doctrine. It's another to misrepresent it. Especially when you have faithful Catholics and Orthodox pointing that out to you. Most biblical faiths will claim to know the secret sauce, but none that I'm aware claim that the individual must earn their own salvation. View quoted note → View quoted note →

The Catholic Church claims something remarkable: apostolic succession, a living magisterium, and unbroken tradition stretching back to the apostles. The deeper down the rabbit hole I go, the more I fall in love with Christ and His Church. I'm not saying the Catholic Church is free of its own faults, there are plenty of those. But I've found a fullness of faith within it. Protestantism only trades the tradition and magisterium of the Church for their own. These reformed churches haven't eliminated the need for authority; they relocate it from the institutional Church to the individual conscience (or someone else's opinion) interpreting Scripture. That's why there are countless different flavors of them. Without a living teaching authority and apostolic tradition to anchor interpretation, each Protestant interpreter becomes, in effect, their own magisterium or follows a new one that fits. I like the hard fork analogy, even going so far as to tweak the canon of what they claim is scripture. The only early Christians who rejected Church authority for private Scripture interpretation were deemed heretics. 🗝️

GM Nostr ☕ Back to work today. Made great progress on cleaning and painting the nursery yesterday. Today it's the fiat mine to stack sats into generational wealth. Giving today everything I've got.

Saw my son's face on 3D ultrasound this morning. Anatomy scan was a success, with a perfectly healthy baby. 🙏 My grandmother passed away this morning, perhaps just around the same time. RIP Mimi, see you soon. 🙏 --- God is good. Life is short. Stay blessed nostr.
