@Peter McCormack 1:11 in to this episode you touch on how the music industry was changed by Napster and torrenting and how indie artists aren't making much from recorded music anymore. This is true. You've probably already heard that nostr and bitcoin are fixing this with platforms like @Fountain, @Wavlake, LNbeats and more. Feels like we're on the cusp of a massive change again in the music industry (for the better this time), in favor of the indie artist. The next couple of years are going to be exciting!

GM #nostr I have some very exciting news to share with you all that I've been keeping under wraps for a while now. I'm heading out to Nashville this October to record my next album 'Alone In Valentine' with some world class talent. Since I started writing country songs about a decade ago, it's been a dream of mine to cut a record in Nashville and now it feels like the time is right to make it happen. As well as my main kickstarter campaign which goes live tomorrow, I wanted to do a @Geyser fund for the nostr folks who can support with sats, if you so wish. Staying true to my path these past few years, this album will eventually be released for free under the value for value model. However, this is my biggest, most ambitious project to date and traveling half way around the world comes with hefty a price tag. I will be putting a big emphasis on physical merch as a way people can support this vision and help me bring the album to life. With this Geyser campaign, you can pre-order the album as a CD (old school), a vinly record (very old school - but hipster), or signed merch bundle (CD, vinyl and t-shirt). There are some higher tier rewards for the whale zappers. 🐋 $500 gets you an album credit thank you (and signed merch bundle), the top slot is a private house show performance of the whole album (for UK residents only). This is my first attempt at something like this, so I will admit, that I'm taking a shot in the dark. But I've decided that I'm making this album because I believe it needs to be made. I'm selfishly making it for me first, and I hope others will eventually find it and like it. I truly do believe in the value for value model and when the album is released digitally, it will be released early into the valueverse ( @Fountain , @Wavlake , LNBeats etc) before legacy platforms. However, if you'd like to show an extra bit of support, you can do so by pre-ordering a physical copy with this Geyser campaign.
