"In my experience, psilocybin can be a doorway to a different reality that is free from the limiting beliefs of my ego, feelings, and personal history. Because I was able to experience that limitlessness and peace - albeit transiently - I now know what is possible and can work to access that state through daily habits. I know that the mind is more powerful than we think and can conjure huge, positive, creative visions if we simply allow it to, and that this potential of thought shifts what’s possible in our day-to-day lives." -- Casey Means MD
Sounds intriguing. Do you have any experience with #psilocybin or other #psychedelics?

On the quest to live a mindful, happy, healthy, long life.
It's impossible to change other people. I had to learn this the hard way over years of painstakingly trying with multiple approaches. You only have three options:
-) accept the other
-) change yourself
-) leave

Do you know what a zibaldone is? It's is a type of notebook that originated in Florence, Italy during the14th century. It's a collection of notes, thoughts, and observations recorded in a random and unstructured manner. The term #zibaldone means "a mixture of stuff," reflecting the varied nature of the content.
This type of note taking was popular among Italian writers, artists, and thinkers, who used it to record their thoughts and ideas on various subjects without worrying about coherence or consistency. Today, the concept of the zibaldone has been revived as a way to encourage creative writing, #journaling, and note-taking.

A fitting quote from James Clear, since I'm currently reading the book "The Notebook - A History of Thinking on Paper" by Roland Allen:
"Writing is the superpower of humankind. It is our truest form of magic.
Writing allows you to conjure up something of value where nothing previously existed. It costs little for you to write down the lessons of your life and yet those few minutes spent writing can be life-altering for the right reader. As I once saw it put: "there is someone out there with a wound in the exact shape of your words."
Furthermore, writing is the foundation of nearly every technology and innovation because we have to record what we know before we can build upon it. And these innovations are passed down from generation to generation, allowing our children to inherit a richer intellectual fortune than what we were born into. The world is richer because we write and nobody is made poorer in the process."

#wisdom #optimism #quotes #goodlifeGM and happy new year 2025! 🍀 🐷 🐞
Let is be a year of relative stability and peace in the world, of an epic bull run and bitcoin adoption, of personal growth and development and of moving closer to or fulfilling your unrealized hopes and dreams. Let's do this!
GM! I never thought I'd read a book about Notebooks. Why would that be interesting? Well, Ryan Holiday recommended it and I gave it a try. What can I say... I started this morning, read the introduction and first chapter and I'm hooked. It's well written and fascinatingly interesting.
For example, did you know that the Muslim world thrived because of paper for centuries while Europe fell behind. The clergy there shunned the use of paper because it was deemed impure:
"They didn't like paper's suspiciously infidel origins: one opponent fulminated against the idea that the word of God could be written on menses-stained rag" -- Roland Allen
He explained beforehand that paper was made from a variety of raw materials, including worn-out underwear, as the linen fibers of clothes worked particularly well.

I'm in the midst of reading "The Art Thief" by Michael Finkel. If you have some end-of-year time on your hands, I highly recommend it to you. It's a compelling, short read of an incredible true story.

This is from Peter Diamandis newsletter. The future will be crazier, more amazing, more mind boggling than we can image:
"Neuralink’s Blindsight implant received the FDA's "breakthrough device" designation, aiming to restore vision through direct visual cortex stimulation and potentially benefiting those who have lost sight or were born blind. Elon envisions evolving capabilities, from basic visual input to enhanced perception. A planned three-patient trial will evaluate its efficacy and safety.
This is “biblical” in nature—curing blindness. But beyond the obvious uses, I’m excited about where this could go next. Imagine being able to use your Blindsight implant to see through the eyes of an Optimus robot on the other side of the planet. Or being able to enhance your vision, seeing the world in infrared, ultraviolet or in zoom-mode, based on special wearables. Just as interesting will be “picture-in-picture” mode on your visual field... reading your texts and emails, super-imposed on whatever you are watching at the moment."

Blindsight aims to restore vision by implanting microelectrodes in the brain, though its ability to deliver clear, usable sight remains uncertain.

She's talking about mindfulness #meditation and how expert meditators can lower their pro-inflammatory markers and change epigenetic pathways through a single deep meditation session. You don't have to be an expert though to benefit. Simple sitting quietly and observing what thoughts come up is beneficial. It allows you to continually return to the present moment and wake up.
