If you didn’t watch @bitpunk.fm is typing set live on the Satellite Skirmish, you missed out on something special. Lucky for you, you’ll get to watch the recording when it’s published. I’m excited to see how some of you musicians might sample it in some of your songs, taking his haunting words and repurposing them into something equally beautiful.

To all the v4v musicians: Do you find most of your sats coming from listeners listening to your song in app, or do you find it comes when your song is played on a music show? Do you find your most of your sats are coming from only a handful of super supporters or is it spread out pretty evenly amongst all your supporters?

If your goal is growth and making things easier for the “normies” I start to wonder if you’re really against X, Facebook, or Spotify, or are you just jealous you’re not as big as them? Once you have your growth and mass of normies using your app, how would you wield your power? When it starts to make sense to compromise your values because you might lose market share, what will you do? Do you really think with all your striving for growth and mass adoption that you’re any different than Zuck or Musk?

You know who's really socially awkward? Most government schooled kids who never learned how to socialize with anyone outside of their clique or peer group. Real socialization is being about talk to an 80 year old man or play with a toddler, and engage with both as a fellow human worthy of your time and attention.

@hzrd149 If I want to store a list of splits as an event to be fetched later, is this what I would send to the relays? { "content": "[\"sjb@strike.me\",\"sirspencer@getalby.com\",\"hzrd149@minibits.cash\"]", "created_at": 1736475450, "id": "059de987d1dbb7010cdf59486d21302494e573c8f217430f4bea96ea5128fc12", "kind": 33333, "pubkey": "4660cd71c8a4715b9d23bdb7ff5b33e12508259247b2426423453f8af3b73849", "sig": "b7ef7fd5a9f8dd8feecb9281e7a6d5f4924789a8d8504d4b98efe18de396f6a1cf09c28e19b3456cd271f41b300eb2d1e298e9d5b687b686820a12997a30b471", "tags": [] }

What is this Polar Embrace Satellite Skirmish thing you keep seeing? It's a v4v music show, in which several bands from across the world live stream their performances, and you can listen from any Podcasting 2.0 app that support live, and you can boost/zap the band in real time. It's sort of like an online battle of the bands. Here's a recording of the very first one to give you a feel for what's possible.

So I built a thing that pretty much works like this thing. If you have a wallet that has an API that let's an app generate invoices and send payments programatically (which AlbyHub does), then this can work for you. The splits are in the feed, so they're auditable, but they could just as easily be in a nostr event. It is working, and is in the Podcasting 2.0 feed already. I suck at writing documentation. But I am happy to answer any questions.

If your v4v music app only let's you create and share playlists inside of that app, don't be fooled. They're not a Spotify killer, they're just trying to be the next Spotify, where you're locked into using their app exclusively. Your playlists should be able to be played in any and all v4v music app. Protocols over platforms.

curiocaster.com/podcast/pi946122 I'll be on Bowls with Buds tonight at 4:20 central, with hzrd149, the creator of the nostr app noStrudel. It's the type of app I would build if I was building for nostr. I'll be asking and answering questions about the strengths and weaknesses of nostr/RSS, and what we can do to capitalize on the strengths of each. I'm wondering if some sort of Fraken-baby, nostRSS might be possible.
