There is some exciting news about Ocean Mining Their measured hashrate for the past 24 hours as well as their self-reported hashrate both place them as a top-10 mining pool I think this is the first time both metrics put them in the top 10 Keep adding hashrate! Fight the spam!

I have an idea for an easy-to-build nostr/LN project! Could be a great "beginner project" if you know someone looking to get into bitcoin/LN/nostr development, or a weekend project for someone experienced who wants to do something fun. The idea is inspired by my friend @niftynei() πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡ΈπŸ’ΈπŸ§‘ who told me recently that she wanted to zap a particular post "from" her official Base58 nostr account, so that it would show up publicly as "from" that account, but she has not yet hooked up her CLN node to an NWC backend. I think it would be great if a webapp existed that she could log into with nostr-based authentication, paste the naddress of any post she wants to zap, and, instead of connecting to her node, the webapp just (1) looks up the profile of whoever posted the node (2) gets their lightning address (3) gets an invoice from it (4) requests a zap receipt *as* the logged in user (5) displays the invoice to the logged in user for payment. That way, you don't *have* to hook up your node! Just pay the invoice, and nostr will handle the rest!

Aristotle was probably unaware that the argument from silence is logically fallacious because he never mentions it in his writings on logic.

hey @OCEAN can yall add a lightning address to your profile? Some of us wanna zap you and include you in zaprings to support Ocean. You guys do a lot of work fighting spam and decentralizing mining, and you deserve a reward for it

Nicehash or another significant Ocean miner should offer a private mempool service It would not just be hilarious, it's also economically wise: I suspect a wallet could capture almost 19% of bitcoin usage share by advertising that it only sends user transactions to Ocean

Allegedly, 19% of the bitcoin network is now running knots However, I think I have detected evidence of a sybil attack designed to inflate the number of Knots users I have annoted part of the "historical nodes" chart available at Based on this, I suspect the *real* percentage of Knots usage (subtracting probably sybils) is about 12.3% of the total network -- ~2,710 nodes out of 21,950 nodes. Still a big deal, but not as big as the current numbers seem to suggest
