I was underestimating the complexity of the behavior or different platforms(iOS, Android, desktop). Needless to say, I successfully managed to make it possible to update my pantry items by using their barcode. Needs improvement but at least it’s there. image

Current Feedme features: - AI generation — describe a dish and get a full recipe with photo - RSS import — subscribe to recipe sites; new recipes land automatically - URL import — paste any recipe page URL to extract and save it - Image import — photograph a cookbook page or recipe card; AI extracts it - Staging workflow — all imports require your approval before going active - Meal planner — assign recipes to days across a weekly calendar - Pantry tracking — log what you have with quantities - Grocery list — automatically calculates what to buy based on your meal plan and pantry - Nostr backup — optional decentralized backup of your recipe library - No account, no cloud, no tracking — your data stays on your server Next step is to enhance the pantry management via Barcode scanning.

Yes, now I have fully implemented publishing recipes from my self hosted recipe instance. No need of a client and friction. Simply publish it, and import it from another instance. You can either browse recipe on the relay or optionally filter by npub to transfer from one server to the other. Normies don’t even have to know what Nostr is. I am using relays as decentralized backup servers View quoted note →

As I’m improving my project, I am seeing the endless potential for subscription. I could make it published on a paid relay, I could unlock advanced features with subscription, I could charge a few sats per cards, etc. But this wouldn’t be what I stand for. Fuck that. I have started my journey because I was interested in FOSS and sovereignty. My ethos will not change. Everything will be open source and free.

Buying Gift Cards using #monero or #bitcoin can add friction. You need to manage these cards, print them, take a screenshot, etc. For those using an accounting software for budget is also a pain to write down the purchases. That’s why I spent the evening coming up with a mockup that I will build this week. A self hosted Giftcard vault. Very easy. Just add the number and nip for each store and you can get the barcode scanned at the cash. This manager will ease the management and have all the cards in one web app. Everything is stored on your own self hosted instance and there will be a history/statement that can be generated to import in your budgeting app.

I think I’m almost done a first release. I was wondering if I should add an “import/export” recipe to Nostr. The recipes would live on relays and be able to fetch them. Basic JSON format, I think I could handle that. But would anyone care? View quoted note →

#bitcoin will moon when institutions and countries will ape in… so they said…. Institutions did buy, so did countries… price don’t go up much. Now institutions and countries are selling off. #bitcoin is dumping. #monero says: hold my beer.
