In 2021 I remember thinking 'Bitcoin uses more energy than Argentina for what exactly?' I thought there were so many issues - the environmental impact, no real use cases, basically just a Ponzi scheme. But that exact question led me down the rabbit hole and what I discovered was the exact opposite of everything my egotistic, naive mind thought. Probably the most surprising thing I found is how Bitcoin is impacting people's lives despite them not owning any or even knowing what Bitcoin is. These specific use cases changed me to full conviction in Bitcoin and led me further down the rabbit hole to realise this is way more than just trying to get rich - this is literally the separation from state and could actually be the difference for the world moving forwards. My daughter turned 5 today. She’s sweet, kind and loving… but she also knows exactly what she wants! She is a big reason that led me to Bitcoin. And Bitcoin gave me much more hope than I had before I found it. To be frank, I was very concerned about the world I was bringing a child into. But the more I learn about what Bitcoin really is, the more hope and excitement I have for what the world could (will?) be like when she’s an age to fully immerse herself in.
