I was reading the comments section on a “conservative” news site that caters to boomers. Have boomer-cons always been this dumb? It’s honestly kinda depressing.

Is there any overlap between people who want sound money and people who want sound theology and doctrine? Seems that way to me, but maybe it’s just selection bias because I’m only on Nostr online, and mostly hang out with friends from my Orthodox parish IRL.

No one knows how to party with genuine joy and love like the Orthodox on Pascha. I’ve been to plenty of parties over the years but none hold a candle to Pascha. It truly is the Feast of Feasts.

Beginning of Lent: “the problem is those people, they need to find Jesus.” End of Lent: “the problem is me, I need to find Jesus.”

For those that want to get to the roots of the issues with modernity, I highly recommend this deep dive into “nominalism” vs. “realism”. Deep philosophical metaphysics, but once you get it this has remarkable explanatory power.

This seems like a silly post. But it got me thinking: how does America deal with the many predatory acts in her history? Thankfully there are many beautiful examples from Christian history of predatory nations repenting and embracing the way of Christ. I love the example of the Vikings as those cruel violent people embrace Christ as their king. https://www.strategoshistory.com/post/the-christianization-of-the-vikings No people group is beyond repentance: Vikings, Visigoths, Romans and the Celts all demonstrate that. And today, even Turks, Americans, and Israelis can find salvation through repenting and following Christ. View quoted note →

Drives me nuts every time I hear podcasters talking about how they can’t say things because of YouTube. I know y’all are trying to reach NPCs on YouTube, but is it possible to put out the podcast first and then make a censored version that goes on YouTube later? There should be no awake and aware people who still use YouTube primarily. /rant https://fountain.fm/episode/9tHuOF4F01IAGtUcQ7Us View quoted note →
