This was a great conversation. I always appreciated Fr. John Strickland. I’ve read books 1 and 2 of his 4 part series, found them very insightful. Charlie seems like someone who is very genuinely interested in the truth and willing to change his views when he learns something new. May his memory be eternal, and may God have mercy on his soul.

Drives me nuts every time I hear podcasters talking about how they can’t say things because of YouTube. I know y’all are trying to reach NPCs on YouTube, but is it possible to put out the podcast first and then make a censored version that goes on YouTube later? There should be no awake and aware people who still use YouTube primarily. /rant View quoted note →

Not sure if I agree with her, but these are very important questions. The traditional role of “devils advocate” or the skeptic is very important within a functioning society. And she plays the role well. The hate she gets is telling.

Darnell is a thoughtful scholar, I really appreciate her research here. She talks slowly so you have to speed it up, but the history she gives in the 2nd half of the podcast is fascinating. Maybe I’m biased, but it seems to validate my theory that economics plays a much larger role in American theological thought than we give it credit for.
