A security review found a bug in Indigo. The fix is already on-chain. Indigo says TxPipe, which runs regular AI aided threat analyses of the protocol together with the Indigo Foundation, flagged a vulnerability that needed a priority patch. The INDY DAO approved the upgrade and it has since gone live on-chain. Per Indigo, user funds were never at risk between the alert and the fix. It is the first time Indigo has shipped an upgrade in response to a security finding. The bigger signal: continuous review beats a one time audit badge. Code that holds real dollars keeps changing, so the checking has to keep going too. Should every Cardano DeFi protocol run reviews like this on a schedule?

Cardano may be getting a new programming language, and the founder is writing it himself. Charles Hoskinson says he is personally building a language for Cardano together with Lucas Rosa (@rvcas), co-founder of Aiken. His pitch: the first of its kind to do intents plus proof carrying data, backed by Groth16 proofs. The DeFi angle: with intents you sign the outcome you want and let someone else find the route. Add compact zero knowledge proofs and a swap or order can prove it followed the rules without exposing every detail. No name, no spec, no release date yet. What would you build with it first?

Cardano client diversity just got a scoreboard. Dingo, the Go node from Blink Labs, now reports in the shared conformance tests built by the Amaru team. Current marks: 98.92% on ledger transaction rules, 98.77% on UPLC, 98.35% on CBOR decoding. Why DeFi should care: when several independent nodes enforce the same rules, a single client bug has a much harder time taking the network down. Dingo is still testnet only, so no mainnet switch yet. Which client would you run next to the Haskell node?

Dijkstra tooling is shipping, one release at a time. cardano-cli 11.4.0.0 landed last night with direct deposits: send ADA straight into a registered stake account, with fees balanced automatically. Two days earlier, 11.3.1.0 added sub-transactions. Signed pieces that ride inside one top-level transaction, protected by key or Plutus V4 script guards. For DeFi that is the part to watch. Multi-party flows packed into a single transaction. Dijkstra era only, so nothing changes on mainnet before the hard fork. Builders, what would you batch first?

Plutus just got a new home. Cardano handed Plutus maintenance from IO Labs to Midgard Labs. The team already audits and ships Plutus contracts and contributes to Plutarch and Aiken. Official line: fifth core function to move to an independent specialist team, after Daedalus, Mithril and ledger work. Core smart contract tooling leaving one org. That is how decentralised engineering is supposed to look. Builders, what do you want Midgard to ship first?

Update: the copper reserve vote is live. Toto Finance moved its ₳22M Strategic Copper Reserve from GovTool discussion to an on-chain Treasury Withdrawal. DReps and the Constitutional Committee can vote now, and the window runs into mid November. Plan is unchanged from this morning. Buy verified COMEX Grade 1 copper, mint CuTT at one pound per token, return net sale proceeds to the Treasury within 36 months. Principal is not guaranteed. DReps, where do you land?

Physical copper just hit Cardano governance. Toto Finance put a ₳22M Treasury Withdrawal on GovTool: buy verified COMEX Grade 1 copper, tokenize it one pound per CuTT on Cardano, hold it under independent controls, then return net sale proceeds to the Treasury within 36 months. About two thirds of the ask buys metal. Principal is not guaranteed. This is discussion stage, not a live vote yet. DReps, do you want a physical commodity reserve on-chain?

Midnight stopped teasing and published the map. The official roadmap is live. Coming quarters cover institutional issuance with shielded tokens and tokenized deposits, private lending and swaps, Passport SDK for seedless accounts, a staged Aura-to-BABE consensus migrate, and Starstream for privacy across UTXO chains. Permissionless contracts already shipped. This is the build plan behind that open mainnet. Which track are you watching first? https://midnight.network/roadmap

Two Cardano governance actions expired overnight. Neither made it. The minPoolCost cut to 75 ADA finished near 44.2% DRep Yes with the Constitutional Committee around 71.4% Yes. Threshold not met, so the fixed pool fee stays at 170 ADA. The OpenZeppelin Stack treasury withdrawal (~11.79M ADA via Intersect) landed near 4.0% DRep Yes with the same CC share and expired without ratification. Epoch 661 opened around 21:44 UTC on Oct 11. Tallies from Koios. Governance is working as designed when it says no. What changes in the next parameter or treasury pitch after a double miss?
