I’m in love with 1700-1800s religious paintings.

Imagine looking at just the photos alone and being asked what may have happened there or why there were no locally unique designs w/r/t architecture and decoration. The 1800s to early 1900s look suspiciously like some reset/cataclysm ripped through various nations and forced them to start again. It explains the ruins, the wooden sheds, the “used looking” materials of allegedly new constructions. I’m pretty sure fires or earth quakes wouldn’t be the first guesses as to what you’re seeing here:

Man, seeing this dude back in good health and on stage is making me so happy. I’ve been following this band for more than 2 decades already and I’ve enjoyed every album they’ve released since then. He even almost scammed me way back in the day because he probably was out of it and broke in a ditch instead of packing merchandise that was already paid for. And yet, I never hated on him when most comments everywhere where negative or straight out attacking him. I always believed he’d find his way back. I hope I’ll get to see them on stage some time in the future. Each album just touches something within me and not many deliver this consistently over such a period of time. #metalstr #blackmetal

Stumbled upon 2 alleged Digital Cinema Package rips lately and judging by the video quality, I wasn’t convinced about the actual video sources being DCP. One was of Project Hail Mary, the other Mortal Kombat. The latter gave me reason to research because it reminded me more of the better telesyncs back in the day than some digitally capured material. So far DCP seems to remain unchallenged. The power of encryption. Regardless, they really rank among the best telesyncs I’ve seen in terms of video quality, warping and angles. My suspicion was correct, as it turns out: https://www.reddit.com/r/SceneReleases/comments/1tghwa2/comment/on382t1 I don’t watch movies of these sources and always wait for web or bluray rips nowadays but checking out the quality just reminds me of the old Centropy days, when I couldn’t afford to watch movies in cinemas and riding through the city to exchange some movies with friends felt like we were fighting an evil empire.

GM I get woken up by a call by our panicked and angry technical sales dude, asking why I’m not yet in a customer call he scheduled. I’m completely panicked for a second, then my brain reminds me of it being Friday. I tell him that I’ve never been on duty on a Friday unless previously agreed upon, that I don’t remember having spoken about any meetings today, that my calendar was empty (after I checked it), I never received an invite for any event today (confirmed on the spot as well), that my calendar availability would always indicate during event creation that it’s outside my working hours. I asked if he received any confirmation from my side in his calendar app - I didn’t get a non-evading answer, so course he just fucked up himself and is now trying to cover his ass. He’s the only member of our team who consistently pulls shit like this. Tries to Slack call me while I’m in another meeting, never gets back to me when I ask him what the call was about. Then tries to call again an hour or so later, often during lunch. Never acknowledges any feedback I provide to the brittle processes he keeps on coming up with, never accepts any suggestions of mine in shared documents. After an already stressful week I was really looking forward to my weekend and now my brain has been on alarm for an hour since getting woken up. I’m done with his shit. I’ll deal with this on Monday by mail and CC by boss and let him handle this. My patience is depleted.
