Germans, whom of you lives rather remotely, away from bigger cities and can share some experience w/r/t getting reliable Internet wherever you live? Currently looking at o2 Mobile Unlimited Max Flex (https://www.o2online.de/assets/blobs/pdfs/1_po_o2-mobile-unlimited-max-flex_2025-download/) and Starlink. I can test both for 30 days though o2 won’t force me into an annual contract at all. It’s unlikely I’ll be getting access to a landline somewhere so DSL/Cable internet are out of the question. The surrounding area is part of a FTTC (Fibre to the Curb) development project so maybe I’ll be able to get fibre at some point in the future but it’s not an option for now.

Not happy with my gardening this year. Considering I was sick during the hottest weeks and lost half of what I planted to the sun, I shouldn't complain about the output overall. Today I brought home some of my last tatoes, tomatoes and a giant green zucchini. (Left my paper bags at home so I'll have to rinse the backpack later. 🫠) #gardenstr

lol you can just open your hugo blog's content directory as a new Vault in Obsidian and it even renders the frontmatter perfectly. Obsidian is just a gem. Was struggling between keeping drafts in sync because I had a blog folter in my primary Vault as well and keeping attachments like images and their paths from breaking was annoying. Now it’s so much simpler.

Working from Eindhoven today. GM friends

Today I fully automated my homelab with proxmox, Talos and Ansible and integrated the new cluster into my fluxCI AND I built the blueprint for an automated VMWare to proxmox migration demo (also using Ansible) for my client by accident. Includes documentation, simple tests and it's actually all idempotent. I had a previous setup that I wasn't really happy with because it was messy mix of my IaaS code that I then vibe coded upon. Just didn't behave coherently. Moved my Kubernetes workloads back to my arch desktop for now and will migrate back some time tomorrow. Still lots do to. Will also have to dig deeper into what proxmox can offer besides VMs, live migrations and ceph cluster support. Finished all that in about 5h, thanks to the speed provided by grok-coder-fast-1. I wasted 1h in the beginning because my instructions just weren't that good. Great experience in total though. This way of working definitely sharpens the way you communicate your ideas and goals. Every senior engineer should try this some time, especially if they're often helping out coaching juniors. Thanks Cline for the free trial! It would've taken days to craft this by hand. I also hate writing YAML by hand.
