When authority presents itself in the guise of organization, it develops charms fascinating enough to convert communities of free people into totalitarian States.

I like freedom.
I like the orange coin.
I'm a purveyor of sovereignty with nostr:nprofile1qqs9v5v8trgum5msr6cd82j3r77mhj94sk0adcp2232sdy65srusmdqpzdmhxue69uhhqatjwpkx2urpvuhx2ue0l39fwr
My router broke, and for the last couple of days, I had no Wi-Fi.
I set up my Nostr apps to only connect over Wi-Fi to save on my data plan. To kill time, I went back to scrolling on X instead.
It's been months since I had been there, and what I experienced WILL SHOCK YOU - as most influencers often write:
Ads, ads, ads everywhere: Always the same ones, popping up all the time. It's so tiring, because most of them are trying to trick you to get your attention.
Musk and DOGE posts and reposts everywhere, even if I don't follow these accounts.
Trump, and Epstein related posts and reposts everywhere, by accounts I'm not following either.
BREAKING posts everywhere.
Crypto posts everywhere: ETH, SOL, XRP, etc. Even when I'm not following that kind of accounts. Altcons still going strong on X, and trying to plug their projects whenever possible.
A lot of incivility in exchanges between users. People are so tense or showing their passion in a wrong way. No need to be so fucking rude all the time.
Many posts I didn't get... Like cryptic comments on top of a video, adding no value whatsoever. I guess you need to actually watch the video to get the point. But I don't have time for that, so...
X's thread layout sucks. You've got long threads, and each message ends with a "show more" making the experience miserable.
A LOT of engagement, compared to Nostr. Most posts have hundreds of comments, thousands of likes and reposts. I wasn't used to that anymore, and I hope we can reach that level of engagement at one point, especially for news. Maybe it's all bots and spam - haven't really checked that deep.
Seeing users I follow here be way more active there. And users I used to follow who aren't on Nostr. It's nice to see their posts. I wish we'd have them here, too.
Anyway, coming back to Nostr, I appreciate what we have here.

Oh man, this was a heavy topic, one I had never heard of.
Some people are really evil. And government giins are too happy to oblige, as usual.
But, hey, it improves the bottom line!

I had forgotten that luxury goods were a shitcoin.
It's always amazed me seeing a bunch of Chinese people queueing in front of Louis Vuitton, and other similar stores.
Because inside are just overpriced products, basically. Made in the same workshops as other regularly priced products...
But Chinese people can't invest in stuff to protect their savings.
And they end up using LV bags as a store of value 🤯
They should learn about #bitcoin
And then luxury goods will lose their monetary premium 🤣
Thanks for the pod @Danny Knowles

Man, working with suppliers in #china and #thailand is so different...
In China, I placed a prototype order online, got a dedicated contact person, and received my samples in less than 3 weeks.
In Thailand, I couldn't order a prototype online, so I contacted 5 suppliers by email 3 weeks ago. Not. One. Reply.
Not to say that everything's rosy with my Chinese supplier, but at least I can get shit done. The issue is that I'll have to deal with import taxes for the bulk order...

I've been using Nostr for a while. And I think #olas could be a good app to recommend some of my friends, so they can get a taste.
But how can they install it easily?
I'm not sure what to tell them... A quick search doesn't provide any relevant results.
And I don't want them to have to download other apps, like Zapstore.
