Self custody is hard. I shit you not: coming back home to my APC UPS continuously beeping. A few seconds of this, and I start losing my temper... My first reflex: shutting down my power backup. WITHOUT TURNING OFF MY BITCOIN NODE PROPERLY 🤦‍♂️ I just recovered my node after a corrupted drive, because of a power outage. And I didn't even open my new lightning channels yet. And I simply killed it, because I was pissed at my UPS, basically in the same way that corrupted my drive previously... Luckily, I restarted it, and it works fine. But just imagine how close I came to fucking it up again. Just like that. Self custody implies responsibility and accountability. At all times. I just recovered my Start9, following an hour long power cut that had corrupted my external drive 👍 After I restored it, it took me a couple of days to configure and sync the services: Bitcoin, electrum, Alby Hub, etc. As planned by @npub126nt...e9ll and @Alby the backup worked well! And I found my bitcoin in my on-chain wallet 🙏 Basically, I just lost my Lightning channel in the Hub - I guess it was force closed because my node was offline for a week or more. But I didn't lose my precious sats. Thanks for the great work teams, again!

So that was a fucking lie I don't know Jeff. But I shitcoined with him at the time. And I was so happy for him when he posted this message on X earlier this year. I even sent it to other shitcoiners, to show them the orange path. But a few months later, he's back grifting in his Facebook group. Promoting another shitcoin. Greed was too strong for him. He posted 5 messages in 24h about his new token 😢 typical shitcoiner stuff. So disappointing. I wonder why he posted this #bitcoin message on X at the time. What were the incentives? Because it feels like a ruse, a deception. Anyway, you do you, Jeff.

I left home for a week, on holiday. The day after I left, I received a message from the condo that they'd cut the electricity for 1 hour on that day. My router and my Bitcoin node are on a UPS (APC) but it didn't last long enough 😐 So, I lost access to my LN bitcoin... Is there any way to restart my Dell Optiplex micro running Start9 remotely? I can't think of any... Only the power button will turn it back on, I'd say. But that's not convenient at all! And unreliable... #asknostr
