I like to let my perennial border grow a little wild and always leave some grasses and wildflowers in among the plants. But by early summer, there always comes a point when weeds like horsetail, ground elder, and grasses start taking over, and the border no longer looks its best. Some plants also need to be cut back so they’ll produce a second flush of blooms or won’t self-seed everywhere. I mentioned the other day that I need more laughter in my life. Well, today my daughter asked me how many push-ups I could do. I’m still so happy with my last embroidery project that I’ve already started another T-shirt for summer. After that, it’s time to make a gift for my mother’s 70th birthday.
