Schulunterricht vs. Reitunterricht (English below 👇🏻) Ich habe es bald ein Jahr lang ausprobiert. Ich ziehe es noch bis zum Schuljahresende durch und kann dann mit gutem Gewissen sagen, dass ich dem Ganzen eine Chance gegeben habe: Reitunterricht geben. Ich hatte die Hoffnung, dass es für mich anders sein würde, als in der Schule zu unterrichten. Das ist es natürlich auch in vielerlei Hinsicht. Aber in einem ganz entscheidenden Punkt ist es genauso wie in der Schule: Es zieht mir unglaublich viel Energie. Und dadurch ist es jedes Mal eine Überwindung für mich. Wie in der Schule auch, mangelt es nicht an der Kompetenz oder an positiven Rückmeldungen. Aber wie ich immer sage: Nur weil man etwas gut kann, heißt das nicht, dass man es auch gerne macht. Ich werde auch weiterhin mit Kindern arbeiten, egal ob in der Schule oder am Stall. Aber so, dass diese energieraubende Zeit sich für mich finanziell mehr auszahlt und ich dann mehr Zeit habe, um mich zu regenerieren. Aber eines weiß ich daneben ganz genau. Dass Arbeiten wie die morgens am Stall, draußen, alleine, mit den Tieren, eigenständig und körperlich anspruchsvoll, mir viel mehr entsprechen. Aber das Leben braucht manchmal Kompromisse und ich suche stets nach jeder Optimierung, die möglich ist. 🤍 School teaching vs. riding lessons I’ve tried it for almost a year now. I’ll continue until the end of the school year, and then I can honestly say that I truly gave it a chance: teaching riding lessons. I had hoped it would feel different for me than teaching at school. And in many ways, it does. But in one very important aspect, it’s exactly the same. It drains an incredible amount of energy from me, to the point where every lesson becomes something I have to overcome myself to do. Just like at school, the issue is not competence or positive feedback. But as I always say: just because you are good at something does not mean you enjoy doing it. I will continue working with children, whether at school or at the stables. But in a way where the time that costs me so much energy is financially more worthwhile, so that I also have more time to recover. And one thing I know for certain alongside that: work like my mornings at the stable, outside, alone, with animals, independent, and physically demanding, suits me far more.
