I still maintain that alot of the recent issues around clients only reading from the top 5 relays would be alleviated by having http relay. Managing WebSocket subscriptions is a pain, I'd much rather just shoot out http requests to the different relays that a one off note may be found in. Just like a website could show 100 images from different domains, we can fetch 100 notes from different relays with http reqs. I don't believe the narrative that http relays would impair client perf.

I would love to see a team try to build Strava on Nostr. It would be so cool if anyone, regardless of the fitness tracker or phone app they use, could share their running data on a shared social layer. It always felt like apps like Strava were great for tracking runs, but trying to force a social usecase when non really existed. Trying to boostrap your social graph from a running app kind of sucks. This is exactly why Strava on Nostr makes so much sense. 🏃‍♂️

Yesterday I was at a jewelry store buying my sister a graduation present. The store owner only wanted to accept cash, no Venmo or Zelle. I didn't have enough cash on me at the time, so I offered to pay him in Bitcoin. His response was all too familiar, a little chuckle and then an explanation that he doesn't want any Bitcoin because he can't hold it in his hands. Is there any way to get the concept of digital money through to boomers or is it not worth the effort?
