It’s pretty cool to think about that a few years down the line people will be asking “I wonder how an ostrich became the symbol for nostr” and we will be able to tell them that we were there when @walker asked an AI bot to tell him a joke about nostr and it inadvertently invented the Nostrich. #nostrhistory View quoted note →

The Fourth of July has become an ironic holiday.
We celebrate our independence from Britain. Independence that was prompted by unfair taxation from a much too powerful central authority. Independence that was accomplished with the use of military grade weapons.
And while we celebrate this Independence, we have (1) become complacent with unfair taxation from a much too powerful central authority; and (2) have people apart of that central authority claiming we shouldn’t be allowed to own weapons that are now below military grade.
So, when you celebrate the Fourth, think about why we are celebrating and what we are celebrating. And remember those reasons as you go forward to “participate” in this “democracy” which has begun to lean into the ideals that those who fought in the revolutionary war sought to abolish.

I take the SEC’s statement about “inadequacy” as telling Blackrock their ETF is going to get approved upon an amendment naming Coinbase as the “surveillance sharing agreement” platform.
Imagine a world where dissidents can speak about, organize, and fund their causes without anyone being able to shut them down. Bitcoin and Nostr create that world. View quoted note →

Bitcoin is extremely under priced with the halving coming up. It would take $9.6B to buy every bitcoin mined this year. If the price doesn’t move, next year it would only take $4.9B. Any nation state can afford either of those prices. IMO bitcoin isn’t fairly priced until it would be near impossible for most nation states to afford buying all bitcoin mine in a year. Maybe $.5T or even higher.
There’s also a chance I did all this math wrong - so please correct me if I’m wrong.
