Open-source vs. Closed-source hits the MSM
“We aren’t positioned to win this [AI] arms race and neither is OpenAI,” a Google engineer wrote in a memo posted by the tech site Semianalysis in May. “I’m talking, of course, about open source. Plainly put, they are lapping us … While our models still hold a slight edge in terms of quality, the gap is closing astonishingly quickly.”

Meanwhile, in an alternate universe

Idk much about DLCs but isn’t it theoretically possible to create an eBay style marketplace using zaps as bids, where each zap/bid is locked in a DLC until the bidding time expires, and for each losing bid after expiry the DLC reverts the sats back to the bidder, and the winning bid’s DLC passes to the seller. Can DLCs “communicate” with each other in this way? (DLC1 states: if sats < DLC 2, sats back to sender; if sats > DLC 2, sats to buyer)
Am I completely missing the mark on how DLCs work or is this viable?
