A friend of mine who self identifies as "right wing" talking about how he doesn't care that I'm a "leftist" and still respects me. This friend agrees that natural resources and banks should be nationalised and owned by citizens instead of corporations, blames landlords for other people not being able to afford their own homes, thinks that investment properties and Airbnb should be taxed out of existence, thinks workers should be entitled to more of the economic surplus they create and in a lot of cases the workers should directly own the businesses because the owners themselves "do nothing" Believes everyone should be paid a universal basic income and politicians should be volunteers. Idk how to break it to him.

If you live in Toronto, you speak English as a first language, you've never been to Iran in your life and don't have citizenship. Umm, you're not Iranian, you're a Canadian. You got no more authority to speak on behalf of actual Iranians than the rest of us westerners. Same applies for everywhere else. Americans, Australians, British, Canadians. Shut the fuck up. You are not your grandparents, Your grandparents were treasonous anyway, that's why you live where you live, because your grandparents sold you out and turned against their own people for money.
