When we first started painting shacks, everything was built on trust and community spirit. 🎨✨ But after a tough lesson around payments and cleanliness, we realized that for our project to grow stronger, we needed structure and accountability. Now, every painted shack owner signs a simple contractual agreement: ✅ Keep their area clean ✅ Visit the Bitcoin Ekasi Center once a month ✅ Learn about Bitcoin and the purpose behind our movement 🧡 Each owner earns 7,000 sats per week (up to 28,000 sats/month) based on completing their learning visit, and trash collection, because this project isn’t just about payments. It’s about empowerment, education, and building a stronger community together. All contracts were signed with the support of local ward councillor Mr. Buda and @LuthandoSABTC🇿🇦 , our project community leader. This is a big step toward transparency, growth, and shared progress!

Proud moment for The Surfer Kids!! Best results ever at the South African Junior Surfing Championships!! Not a single one of our kids were eliminated in the first round of competition! Another small step toward our goal of training a national champion within the next 5 years.

Beyond grateful for the past 4 years! Bitcoin Ekasi is the third best thing I've ever done. (Number 1 and 2 were getting married and having kids.) Can't wait for the next 4 years, and the next 40 after that!

These guys are so ready!! 4 of our best surfers are leaving for Jeffreys Bay on Sunday, to compete in the South African Junior Surfing Championships! They're kitted with new boards and wetsuits (first time they've ever had that) thanks to a a Blocks Discovery Grant!! And everything you see in this photo was paid for entirely in Bitcoin, in a way that the merchant received sats! Both our surfboard shaper, and wetsuit importer are accepting, using and stacking sats!
