The local township primary school, where The Surfer Kids has been recruiting kids from since 2014, now has a new sign above the main entrance. image After mounting the below sign, here's the message we received from the principal: "Miss Williams [our resident Bitcoin Diploma teacher] and your team, please express my words of gratitude to Bitcoin Ekasi and The Surfer Kids for this donation. On behalf of the school, I wish to thank you guys. You took us from a Coca-Cola board to a real school signboard. [Prior to this, at the school entrance, its name was displayed a typical Coca-Cola advertising board.] Thank you very much and we are proud of you. We humble ourselves in front of you and we are looking forward to work with you guys educating us about Bitcoin moving forward. Please arrange to continue sessions with the teachers, one-on-one, in 2025. We're interested in learning how we can use Bitcoin as a school organization. Again, thank you very much. A Merry Christmas and a prosperous new year to you. We are very proud of this signboard." School Principal TM Ndanda Primary School

Good evening. This is my first Nostr post from Costa Rica. Pura Vida. I have nothing profound to say, other than maybe, fuck, it's a mission getting from the airpirt to Uvita.

I like Nostr. There's less people on here shilling government adoption of Bitcoin as if that's definitely, undoubtedly and beyond certainly a very good thing. And there's more people on here who seem to remember that the whole point is seperation of money and state.

I remain very suspicious of ANY regulatory authority, simply because I understand that the likelihood of them getting it wrong is far higher than the likelihood of them getting it right. And I remain at least somewhat suspicious of people who champion regulations as if it's a good thing to have more of.

This is @jack. We all know him. But do you know what he's holding? image It's a mini-surfboard made from old surfboards damaged beyond repair. An up-cycling project developed in partnership with Fairdeeds. All of it powered by #Bitcoin. Because, without Bitcoin, receiving payment for physical objects sold and shipped across borders is more difficult than shipping the object itself.

People use #Bitcoin as a speculative asset. It's like gold. It's just like gold, but it's digital. People are not using it as a form of payment." Uuuummm... yeah, right.

Realizing that corporate/mainstream media is corrupt and then championing Twitter/X as the solution, the new platform for free speech, that's the equavalent of believing that PayPal is the solution to problems created by manipulation of money. Wherever there's centralization of power, all you've really done is defer the problem somewhere else.
